That right there looks pretty good. Definitely better than the Raptor but less practical than one or the ZR2 Silverado. It's not like anyone except in the southwest has a desert to go blasting through to use the suspension on the Raptor.

I like it. Looks like it might even have a poly box.

Thats some serious 3/4 or 1-ton running gear for a shortbox pickup, it would be a first for any manufature to have real axles under a styleside pickup.

Im still surprised at how much people like the raptor, underpowerd 1/2 ton pickup with a body kit??? It certainly looks better than fords standard f-150.

The Raptor is for real. Google some of the races it has been in and how it placed in the last year.

I have to say that the market for the Raptor is pretty select though. And Dodge putting together an engineered product to compete with a specialized target market is nuts.

If Dodge wants to engineer stuff and make money, go after the Acura TL or the Taurus SHO. That's where the market is these days. Go fast family cars with AWD. They should update and restyle the Charger (for real this time).

didn't Dodge already build something even before the Raptor came out?

Even came with a factory Warn winch. And if I remember correctly, it had remote locking diffs and remote disconnect sway bar links for more suspension articulation...

One of my friends designed the electric disconnect for the swaybar. It's kind of portly but it does really well off-road. Our club took some Chrysler engineers out in dawoods with a Power Wagon and a WK, the Power Wagon came out pretty unscathed but the Grand Cherokee went home needing new rockers.

Me too. Looks like it would rip some shit up (does it look like it has a front running gear to me?). Looks better than a truck with 20's on it that is a 4WD truck that gets stuck in wet grass.

It would look better without the green, a regular box... and maybe some slightly smaller tires.

If they'd do it in a quad cab it would look more proportional.

Don't get me wrong it's different for sure. But honestly what is that thing going to be good for besides mudding? It's so dam tall it couldn't compete with the Raptor in Baja as the dam thing would bounce every where. You couldn't use it for any type of rock crawling as it's so freaking tall. Only thing left is mud.

It's not that tall. It just looks that tall due to the shape of the truck (short in length) and the tires. Those aren't 35s like on the Raptor. Look how it fills up the width of the bed, the bed is probably 50" between the wheelwells like all current production trucks. And the tires stick out a solid 3" past the sheetmetal. And it looks like both ends are coils with panhards.

It's definitely not for running wide open across the desert but it's definitely far more useful for the other 46 states in the Union.

So since the Raptor weighs nearly 6,000lbs and it looks like the Power Wagon would weigh in at around 5,000lbs and they both make the same horsepower, I'd be buying the "Big Dumb Mud Truck" over the Raptor.

It reminds me of my parents old 1981 Toyota 4x4 pick up. This thing looks like shit!

its really not going after the raptor. the raptor is a "prerunner" style. that is more "offroad" "wheeling" its one ton running gear solid front axle, 4 link coil over, electronic lockers front and rear, winch, and electronic sway bar disconnects

I heard to make it a fair fight with the Raptor, they were going to only sell these with 4.7's.

true story.
