get boogy'n is a phrase I have heard all my life growing up down south typically used by elders or grandparents. Can also be heard as boogy boogy used to get your butt going, double time, hurry up and so on.

Guess its a south thing considering that is Waltrips heritage.

When reading this thread earlier today I had NO idea how "oogityboogityboogity" related to Nascar. Then for some strange reason I watched the last hour of the race and heard Waltrip say it, I was laughing out loud to say the least.....:rolf

kinda hard to say nascar sucks if you actually go to watch a race live. Not nationwide series at the mile or anything like that but go to Lowes Speeday, Talledega, Bristol, Daytona, or hell even chicago land has some good racing and then from an opinion.

Its harder to not like it after seeing & feeling it live.

I do want to take the wifey to a NHRA race this year tho. Think she would have a blast

There IS a HUGE difference between watching it on TV and in person. However, still nowhere near the intensity of NHRA.....:burnout

The event of NHRA wins imo everytime because of access. Each fan can to through the pits and watch the crews work. You gotta put out some serious coin to get even near the pit crews and still you wont see shit at nascar event and you probably wont get a close up of your favorite driver or crew as you will with NHRA events. Plus you are right on top of the action with NHRA which is just a ton more fun too

Can Nascar ever finish a race without crashes the last couple laps? How do these guys drive 200 laps just fine and the last 10 is like a demo derby where they can barely make 1 clean lap without incident?

As for watching in person, I honestly don't think I can stay longer than 10 laps of them going in an oval.

Nascar RULES I do not miss a race on tv,tape them all and watch without the commercials. Going to a race is much better, you can watch who you want when you want. Not just what tv wants to show. I go to Michigan, Bristol, and Daytona.:headbang

DO IT! I went to the NHRA race in Joliet last year...absolutely mind blowing! The raw power of those cars can not be described, it's just something you have to experience.
If you go, make sure you stop by the Bob Bode pit and introduce yourself to "whistlin six", Mike D. He's the bald headed dude covered in nitromethane soot. ;)

nitromethane soot? That's funny, I'm cracking up as I type this!
It's mostly 70w oil I'm covered with, no way around that doing the bottom end. I sure do stink like race car after a day at the track, I have the dirtiest job on the crew but I love it!
