6.5 Grendel does have the long range advantage, groups well beyond 400yrds, the 6.5 bullets inherintly better ballistics. 6.5 actualy drops less than a 308 and more stable well out to 800+ yards.

The 6.8spc will group fine out to 300yrds, plenty far for WI hunting, bullets will not groups as tight when both rounds are fired at same distance.

6.5 is licenced by Alexander Arms....expensive uppers, expect to spend a $1000 for a traget grade upper.

6.8 is a Remington round, uppers can be had for $600 in decent quality.
6.8 was cheaper for ammo last I checked, may be different by now?

If money was not an option, go 6.5 Grendel, it is a superior ballistic round nomatter what any 6.8 fan says. 6.8 is not going away, a lot of support for the round out there. Im hoping for a Grendel upper or a 25/243 WSM before next deer season myself.

Dont leave the WSM uppers off your list when researching if your spending Grendel upper prices, crazy fast (3000fps) rounds with great ballistic abilities.

Yeah... I'm seeing that the 6.5 uppers are a little pricey. Seems like there's only a handfull of mfg's who offer them too.

A friend convinced me my next upper is going to be a 6.8
