Automotion 2010 features a swap meet, car corral, an evening car cruise and over 1,000 classic cars and trucks on display (1989 and older). Spectator admission is free! So cruise into "The Waterpark Capital of the World!" and check out ALL the rides!

Watch out for cops. Nothing like a "tread depth" ticket when you're riding on DR's when the rest of your car is 100% legal and you're not even the one who got pulled over, but the guy who was is the only one in your group to NOT get a ticket to ruin the whole weekend and make you never want to go to Automation again.

As a seasoned Automation goer, here's some handy dandy tips:

1) Make sure you temporarily put front a front plate on your car somehow for the drive up there. They WILL pull you over for it even if you're doing the speed limit in the right hand lane... ask me how I know :P

2) Bring a car duster of some sort, last year it was so windy, that there was nearly a quarter inch of pollen on cars after sitting for a few hours.

3) If you have allergies, you better bring your meds, see above.

4) Bring a warm jacket & sunscreen/shorts. One year it was nearly 90º and sunny, last year it was low-mid 50's/windy and cold-ish.

5) Bring your camera/video camera - Lots of crazy shit going on down there, and the cars too :P

6) Marley's is pretty much the place to be on Saturday night if you go out drinking.

7) ???

8) Profit.

I was literally 5 minutes from the Dells exit when I got pulled over, I saw tons of cops on the way, but it's only the Dells cops that are a-holes. Just hide behind a pack of cars for the last 20-30mins and you'll be fine.

Once you're actually IN the Dells, on the strip and that, they don't give two shits, because 90% of the cars aren't going to have a front plate.

The wife and I will be there for sure-I think I've only missed one since '95. I'm still waiting to have E85 stations every 60 or so miles so I could actually drive my Malibu up there :goof lol. We're staying downtown again this year, last year we had a blast....there's 10 or so pretty cool bars within walking distance and you can buy that Beer/Drink card for $10 and it's good for buy 1 get 1 free at most places. :headbang

I will be there with 6 of my buddies. We go every year (For the past 5) and have a room booked at the Mayflower hotel right where all the cars travel through to get into the show. We usually take the rams up so we can sit in the bed while cruising the town.. Pretty Fun time. Just be careful there are plenty of cops out there. My buddy got a nice 500$ Disorderly Conduct With a Motor Vehicle ticket for lighting up the 33's on his Ram.

You might get lucky with the knobs on the opposite side of the cup fitting in the holes of the license plate just right. I know Target has a good selection of 3M products, do not bother with the generic brands.....

Yeah it was changed around 1999/2000 I believe, was the last time I was up there for it when I had f-bodies. The show itself is usually a small part of the whole thing though really as the town gets flooded with everything and anything with wheels.

Best year ive seen for automotion Did anyone else see the burn out contest across the street from cruisin chubby's? Still cant believe the cops never broke it up and according to the locals they do it every thursday for there weekly car show. Don't remember much after going to marleys but that bar was hopin saturday.

They had an amazing turnout as those who went experienced. Not enough room any more. Hopefully they do something about that for next year. We barely got in and there were a lot of cars parked in the street. It's a good thing and a bad thing. Lot of fun and very cool cars.
