Most of you know me as the guy with the 80's chevy farm truck, and for those that don't "hello". I just wanted to share my recent GLD experience with everybody. It was a calm and chilly night at GLD...... wait I am sorry I will get to the point my 1/4 mile time.

R/T ---- .306 :sleep
60' ---- 2.232 needs slicks
1/8 ---- 8.684 @ 85.51 mph.
1/4 ---- 13.274 @ 106.91 mph :rockwoot:

I was racing a white 96 cobra that went 15.395 @ 98.10 mph, and no I am not confused by the times on the piece of paper in front of me. There were witnesses to the madness. All in all it was a good night at the track, not a lot of cars so runs were pretty easy to make. I figure with a better 60' that 12's are very attainable. :3gears:

sorry I didn't explain the truck a more I was a little tired when I posted last night.

It is an 84 chevy c/10 2wd pick-up with a 472 cadillac motor in it. only mods to the motor are an intake manifold and headers. The motor only has 8.5 to 1 compression . I have a stock th400 trans with a shift kit. no stall converter yet. the rear end gears are 3.42's and are original from 1984. So its like I said, perfect for haulin hay around the farm:)

p.s. there are some other small mods which might be mentioned later. :nitrous

Weak! :)

The look on a certain somebody with a Cobra's face was all the birthday present I needed!

Now get the timing right and get into the 12's already! :rockwoot:

i ran an old pick up truck on the highway one time...it was dark colored, and i saw gauges...surprisingly i only pulled by a bit....this was when i first had bought the car really........i asked him what he had done, and he said it had a cadillac motor.......this was awhile ago though...are there more guys wit caddy engines? :confused

I have had this combination since about february. As far as I know I am the only pick-up with a cadillac motor in it, for now at least. I probably did race you cause I don't care if I win or lose. although winning is more fun. my truck is dark green, and I gots gauges everywhere. I will be up at highway tonight prolly after mcdonalds show. and definately this weekend. see you around.

Where you posting from? I'm at your computer!! hahaha

I saw you outline which one was the cobra and which was you on the timeslip! good **** right there. Somehow we gotta get that 60ft down to a 2.0 and you'll see 12's for sure. Were you launching on the juice? I saw you left the slicks at home. I think they are too tall for you gearing/converter unless you hit it with all the juice right off the line :)

I was launching it at about half pedal and once tires stopped spinning floored it to spray the rest of the way through first. I will run it with the slicks this year soon and spray the snot out of it in first and I gurantee 12's :woo:
The slicks are a little tall , but they are still slicks.
