Bought this used s and w 5946 9mm got the gun , 100 shells , and case for 400. Just had a couple questions about pistols in general in Wisconsin. So to take it down the road in its case can the clip be loaded but not in the gun like a rifle? Also have been looking at extended clips to hold 24 rounds they say they can ship to Wisconsin but a buddy told me you cant have them here? Any truth

i always keep my clip unloaded, and out of the gun, in a secure case, in the trunk of my car. If it's in a SUV or something, it's in the far back.

I dont know specific laws, I just try to do what seems to be right in regards to transportation.

When I transport I have the weapons with magazines unloaded and in the same case as the gun but not inserted. ( I have an suv and they are stowed in the way back.) The ammo is kept up front with me.

I think I still have some mags left from my 5906. Some Mec-gar ten rounders I used once and I had a 17 rounder or two I never used .

I usally transport my firearm on the passenger seat with mags in firearm case with ammo in the back. I also has transported with rounds in the magazine in the same case of the fire arm but not in the gun on the passenger seat.

I was told you can transport the fire arm in its case with magazine loaded in the same case but must be in view and cannot be in a backpack, range bag ect. Just make sure there is no rounds what so ever in the gun chamber or magazine that is inserted in the gun.

Hi cap mags are legal here.

Transport your unloaded gun in a case, your mag can be loaded, but cannot be inserted in the gun. Your properly cased weapon can be sitting next to you in the front seat or jambed in between the e-brake lever.

There is a lengthy post regarding this subject, somewhere on here.

That is a good deal. 4 number metal framed semi auto Smiths (is it a 4006?) are great guns!
