Time Warner Tv code help?

Hey Guys,
I just purchased a phillips 47in LCD Tv and it works great but I cannot get the time warner remote to turn the TV on and off and but I can get it to change the volume just change channels and guide and stuff. I held Select and TV till it turned red and typed in the two codes from the TW website for Phillips TVs.

I also bought a 42in Visio today aswell and it does the same thing. Im sure its just something stupid I am not doing, any help is appreciated.

Also next step is HDMI cables and PC imput cables, any recommendation on what stuff to get?

hold SEL/Mute together all lights at top will flash punch in 053 for the vizio should turn off the tv press mute should turn back on if it does press SEL to lock it in

as for the phillips try each one of these codes till the tv turns off
023 068 071 072 073 089 090 091 092 093 094 134 385 387 397 404 419 463 470 472 549 594 595

when u punch in each code all lights at top of remote should flash together and then scroll across u can punch in each code till the tv turns off then press mute if it turns back on press SEL to lock it in

also then when u want to go back to using the cable box press mode/ cable on the remote to use the box otherwise it will be on mode/ tv and the quide and other stuff wont work till u go to mode/ cable
