What do I need to convert mp3 files to ringtones for my iPhone? Any programs that are better than others? Does iTunes do it?

Convert an mp3 to aac (No longer than 30 seconds), then go change the file extension of the aac file from m4a to m4r, open the file again, sync to your iphone and there you have it.

Longer, more in depth version of my post. It's stupidly simple to do yourself.

There really isn't anything more simple than this place, and they probably already have what you are looking for; http://audiko.net/

I tried looking up the one I use , it's low quality POS imitation that isn't even the same as the original. Really, its so easy to make your own, I don't see why you wouldn't, take no more than a minute or two.

I use iTunes:

1.) Put the file in the library.
2.) Convert to AAC audio file.
3.) Right click the AAC file and select "Get Info"
4.) Use the time slice (begin) (end) to select a 30 second segment.
5.) Create another AAC file from that segment.
6.) Copy the file to your desktop.
7.) Rename the file from .m4a to .m4r
8.) Say YES when it asks if it's OK.
9.) Note the icon now changes to ringtone.
10.) Move the ringtone file into the appropriate folder.
11.) Copy that file into your library.

Seems tedious, but works great.

WTF, is it true I can only have 30 second clips as ringtones, cant just use a full song and it only rings as long as the caller lets it?

I don't believe there is a 30 second limit. I think one of my ringtones is maybe 45 seconds.

I must have misunderstood.

It seems that I can only do 30 seconds, Ive read a few tutorials and watched a few videos, they all say to adjust the start time and end time in the song's options. So I cant use a full song I guess?

I just like to let it ring forever when people call. It pisses them off, lol..
