Read that it was 50-odd miles west-northwest of Chicago then went downstairs to wake my oldest up to move snow and he tells me there was a big "pop" a couple hours ago. He is in the basement against a foundation wall so that would make sense.

Me personally, I slept right through it.

Who really calls the police for an earthquake? http://www.jsonline.com/84001307.html

Funny, I woke up feeling a mild vibration, but thinking it was just a plow moving through. It was nothing big...but I remember thinking it was odd to feel a plow move through.

I guess that's what it was. Neat!

Never noticed anything, but I slept through the night until I got a phone call at 5:26 from a co-worker about the 2-hour delay.

A few friends in IL have been talking about it this morning. One compared it to a St. Bernard jumping on their bed.

i never felt anything either. thats too bad because i think it would be pretty cool to feel an earthquake, just not a massive one.

I'm in the western suburbs of chicago for school, and I woke up around 4 this morning from a huge bang. It wasnt much of a rattle, but it sounded and felt like a truck drove into my building.

I didn't feel a thing, but I've been though a little one before it was like being in a fun house. The floor was moving back and forth about a foot it pretty cool, after that I woudn't want to be in a big one.

if the floor was moving a foot back and forth that would be a pretty sizable one.... our house didn't even move that much during the loma prieta quake in 89 ... having grown up there and been through 3 major quakes tornados scare the hell outta me way worse than any earthquake

I heard it and felt it too. I thought there was an eathquake at first, but then thought it was the wind. And then the wind just stopped. :confused

Anyone remember the eathquake about 4 years ago?
