Was at Best Buy today poking around and saw their two 55" Samsung LCD's playing Dark Knight. One was obviously "calibrated" and the other was not, showing an amazing picture on one and not the other. The price tag of a "calibration" is roughly $299.

Well I did some digging and found this site:

If you go into reviews you may be lucky enough to find yours. They show all the settings that was used to calibrate the tv.

yea most of the big box stores also play a crafty little game with the calibrated/non-calibrated display. The calibrated TV is correctly calibrated while they take the "non-calibrated" one and purposely go through he adjustments to make it look as bad as possible (much worse than straight out of the box)

Oh I'm absolutley sure they do. Just thought I'd post this up for awareness. I never had any idea that you could calibrate a TV.

I found this on CNET for mine which was GREAT!

Luckly I got an LED that allows you to do SUPER fine tuning.

I can make my electric meter outside spin wildly by incresing all the different brightness and color setting, there is a sight that shows your annual elec cost with your plasma cranked up max.

My Samsung plasma is one area I dont care about cost, HD shows are my man-porn :)

AVSForums will most likely have all the recent/current TV settings for calibrations.

Yep, those guys are some serious nerds when it comes to that stuff. It's an awesome site for information. It's how I found out how to build the screen for the projector as well as which projector settings.

I still prefer to just buy the DVD fo $20-30 and then use it on everything instead of someone else's setttings.
