The "redneck" is Lucas Black liked him in his other movies to Friday Night Lights and Jarhead. Dont know how they would tie him into the 5th one unless its starts in Tokyo.

tokyo drift was my personal favorite. The last one had some good parts to it but I just couldnt get past the fake world of that cave driving they were doing. Ruined the whole movie for me

Not many car movies that make a profit these days, I'll take what I can get. And I love that there was a Grand National in the last one!

And you can die in the 3rd movie, and then magically come back in the 4th... and then make it seem like it was a precursor to the third cause the kiddies won't notice

Exactly, from all the ass backwards confusion I been reading on the net because I was so damn confused, by the time the Brian dude is breaking Torretto from the jail bus at the end of 4, Tokyo has already happened, thats why Dom was free at the End of Tokyo Drift to "owe a favor" to an old friend (dead ass han) hence his purpose for being in Japan, both to escape the law from the u.s, and go to Japan like he told Han he would in 4. So then it opens it up for all kinds of story lines I guess, so 4 actually saved 3's ass, cause we were all like, huh? Dom? So now they can actually introduce the Tokyo Dude, bow wow, Tyrese, maybe bring back Leon or Vince (probably after he served his time in jail), the whole if Vince got out of jail after being hospitalized after 1, and the on screen tention between him and Brian, with Dom in the middle could make some unscreen soap type drama fun action, and Jordana again, and then there even saying everyone was so pissed Lenny died, there going to say her death was faked by the FBI so Dom could help Brian take down Braga, the old send a madman to catch a madman, especially since they killed his only love? Braga was as good as dead or caught, then 2 for the price of one, obviously arresting Dom after he got Braga, or 3 because they lied to Lenny and just arrested her after they seen how the races were run, and since shes Dom's right hand partner in crimes against the U.s., but all in all, the FBI deceptively controlled Brian and not telling him they arrested Lenny because they never really fully trusted him and are using him as the ultimate pawn, which sounds dumb because why would they make him an FBI agent with a shady past... but I guess its hollywood, anything goes! But they would be smart to bring back old faces with some new, thats what made 4 sell so well!!!! Seeing old characters grow like a tv show! Damn, forgot! The dude from 2 was supposedly "Going to get out soon", so there you have two possible bad guys joining up, Braga and that guy, and maybe introduce some new angles too, because we all know those guys want Dom and Brian (and Tyrese) dead, especially since they just went to jail... if Dom can escape, why can't these million dollar Drug lords for revenge? :devil:devil:alcoholic:alcoholic:confused:goof

Just got back from the movie. Still confused as to when it actually takes place. Don't think the theories on here are correct, at least that's not what I got from it.

And I hate when they have something in the trailer, and it's not in the damn movie. No spoilers but there is a specific part I was waiting for that was in trailer, and it wasn't in the damn movie. I really hate that when they do that shit.

If this one takes place before the Tokyo Drift, doesn't that mean that the movie before this was also before the Drift? And if so, that doesn't make any sense. In this movie, Michelle Rodriguez is already dead, and she died at the beginning of the last movie. So that timing doesn't make sense.

Went to an early showing and had Gramps SS as an unexpected chaperone behind us.

Good movie. A lot was a bit "unbelievable", but it is Fast and Furious afterall. Will watch again when I can grab it from the redbox.

I saw it a few hours ago. I am pissed at the LACK of races. They set up a race and...next scene, they won and have the prize! The film has gone waaaaaaaaaaaaay too Hollywood mainstream. With all of these Hollywood faces showing up, I was expecting Justin Beiber to make a cameo when the movie was half way through.

F&F #1 was the best. Two main reasons:
1: I was impressionable when I first saw it. Some kids watched Belly and went all gangster. Others saw Can't Hardly Wait and went to parties on the weekends and would say "im so drunk". A few watched Star Trek and masterbated at three in the afternoon. I thought F&F was my "i gotta find something like that around here" movie. Then I could also go an experience "real" racing here in the Brew Town on any summer weekend. How often do you get to say "its just like the movies"? Well, Milwaukee had lots of honda civics, eclipses and american mullet cars...but still; they raced. If you wanted to see anything outlandish, you drove the extra 75 miles to Chicago and got to see two g-bodies do wheelies!
2: The first F&F was the least outlandish. Floorpans did fall out at 150, wheelies looked a bit odd, and a mitsubishi could shift 13 times, but these were minor compared to what the later versions did.

I'd rate the movie at 3 out of 5. In other words, it was okay.

They had to go hollywood to make money. Otherwise people would have just expected the same movie again. Look at how poorly Scream 4 did at the box office. Why? Because it's the same movie as 1,2,3 with different people. Same plot, same blah blah. They didn't have as many races, that's for sure, but the main scene in the movie lasts 20 minutes and has over 200 cars in it.

The boys and I stopped and saw it on the way back from their state wrestling tourney yesterday. We all thought it was a good movie. I think the story and action made up for the lack of 12 shifting racing shots. Less of a car movie? Yes. We didn't mind.

Satisfied. They are actually getting smarter at this. Whoever jump started Justin Lin's true talent (3 sucked) needs to be praised. They brought back the most popular characters in 4, and instanly the franchise gets a reboot. So bring back even more popular characters, include the Rock, and you got an instant hollywood cash cow, with of course tons of credit going to Lin's directing skills, he's pretty good, and says screw CG, nice. Now they are bringing Michelle Rodriguez back, with Eva Mendez, and the Rock again surely for the 6th, and possibly a 7th? I'm pretty content I will make an effort to see 6 and possibly 7. I actually liked Eva Mendez in 2, and wondered if they approached her for 5, then what do you know, these slick bastards are saving her and Michelle for the 6th one, in a "Do you belive in ghost" scenario already in play. Now give Lucas Black a shot at some movie time (were has he been?) to easily take Han's spot on the team, and you got another win. Seriously, its not the fact that actors are good or not, when you add lead characters into 1 movie, it satifies the viewer who ever wondered about character chemistry, especially if its all in the same movie universe, Fast 5 is a prime example. And remember, Vin did a cameo at the end of Tokyo Drift with Lucas Black. Tie the loose ends, and you'll have success.

Wife and I saw it this weekend. I thought it was the best movie in the series so far. It strayed from the import car scene type movie and turned into a bonafide action movie with a good sprinkling of car porn.

I saw it at the drive in last weekend. I was a little disappointed with amount of shots based around the car scene. I like how in the earlier movies they instantly take you to a car show with scantily dressed women everywhere and a cool backbeat. This movie jumped more into a cookie cutter action shoot-em-up type of vibe. Overall it wasn't bad but I wish it would have been alot more car-scene centric. You can work in action without it being Marine combat style engagements. I'd rank it as my 3rd favorite in the series.

obviously your behind, that is exactly what made the previous movies horribly cheesy. Glad you'd be happy to see another crap fest of cheesy cars and naked women. That was cool in like 2001.

Obviously this new formula is working well. It made a ton of money on opening weekend, and seems to still be a money train. This movie drew a larger more diverse crowd. When I saw it the second time it was during the day on Monday, there were only about 10 people in the theater. 8 of them were at least 50 years old, and when we were walking out, they definitely weren't "car people". unless they left their rice rockets or muscle cars at home on a nice 60 degree sunny day...
