Cincinnati must have some solid light poles, or the new Camaros are built with plastic.....:goof

That'll buff out.

That is insane! I thought almost all light poles were bolted to/mounted on a base and designed to break away or snap off if hit, so they don't tear a car in half like that...

You are correct. The only explanation I can come up with is that pole is older and was not replaced with the newer breakaway style.....

How ridiculously poorly built are those cars that it ripped through the front bumper, core support, front cradle/cross member, firewall and dash board?

A lot of crazy stuff can happen in an accident. I posted pictures of my wife's accident from a long time ago. She hit two trees and the roof was ripped off as well as the passenger door. The front and rear bumpers were touching each other too.

But it is shocking seeing it go almost all the way through the car.

When did Stanman buy a camaro, and why is he crashing into everyone?

As a side note to contradict myself: Anyone else notice the drivers door on the red on looks to me undamaged and (seemingly) still opens well?

Lol small diameter pole that doesnt move will cut like a knife with a healthy dose of speed. A fox body in that instance would have split like an old dried up hot dog bun and not stopped half way through the car:goof

poor enough to where even though a lightpole ripped through the front bumper, core support, front cradle/cross member, firewall, and dashboard, the driver still walked away

Ok......a fact's a fact, whether it's a Ford, Chevy, Dodge, import, or whatever, if you hit a lightpole, it's going to damage the car.....if you are going at a hight rate of speed, that damage is going to be BAD. I think the focus here is not on opinions of how the car is built, but on how incredibly reckless people drive.

The driver was quoted as saying "I've been waiting eight years to total a brand new Camaro!!"

People constantly say that car's aren't built like they used to be, but the fact that the cars absorb the impact better is the difference between life and death, regardless of how the car looks after the incident.

Any details as to how the person(s) from the red wreck fared?
