Well after several scope swaps, other scopes purchased and returned the mandatory Nikon Rimfire fixxed power 4x32 won out. Warne extra high mounts, modified stock so no scope riser needed (rimfire ballistics need lower scope) and the hammer springs 1 legged, trigger springs bent and polished sear glass smooth for 2.4# pull dripping with moly lube.

Oddly enough the gun loves the Federal bulk 333 discount ammo and Im not complaining! Im calling the gun done, very happy with groups under 2" at 50yards with discount ammo, two thumbs up review of the S&W 15-22! Thats a tiny Pine Squirel not a Red squirel, 40+ yard head shots ;)

That pic is from the southern kettle forest near Eagle, gonna hit Theresa right off 45 and HWY D Sunday morning for big Grays, last day of squirel season.

Theresa has plenty of Crows and other un-protected species for year round plinking.

Not bad, but my Marlin 60 puts 10 in 1/2" @ 50 yards every time. More bang for the buck on my end, ($120.oo gun, $50.oo scope) I was taking prairie dogs @ 120 yards with CCI stingers last year out in South Dakota, that was fun shit. I just popped a grey today @ 20 yards with my .22 mag revolver, I was actually surprised at that one, iron sights and all. That rifle ought to do tighter that 2" @ 50, won't it?

I've owned Anschuts rifles that didnt group as well as my Marlin 60 "micro grooved barrel" did, Im a big fan of Marlins no argument! I have yet to shoot any decent ammo in the 15-22, having Federal bulk crap group that well in any gun is a surprise for me.

2" at fifty yards, generic ammo resting on a branch with my eyes, best I could hope from with any gun :)

I was using CCI Blazers, the only way I can tell you that all 10 were in the 1/2" was because I was counting, lol. I just put an A3 upper on my 16" AR15, I use my M261 gov't issued .22LR conversion bolt with this rifle most of the time with a fixed 4x scope.
I have shot good 2" groups, but have yet to dial it in to my desired specs. I like to shoot thru the ears or eyes, not much room for error there.

Sound of Russ making sure he has no images online dated mid summer of dead crows.........

I keep the unprotected list taped to the back of my small game license,my memory is obviously useless :o I vote we make Crows a year round event, all in favor say yes!

I agree, should be open year long, although landowners can shoot crows yearlong, if the are causing damage to trees, or are "about to" seems as though they all are about to....

Thats it "about to do damage", makes all the private property I hunt on year round plinking!

Here is what I keep in my wallet, Starlings are top of my to do list:
Unprotected Species means mammals and birds that can be hunted year-round without bag limits or hunting hours restrictions and includes starling, English (house) sparrow, chukar partridge, coturnix quail, opossum, skunk, weasel, and all other wild mammalsnot specifically mentioned in the hunting, trapping, and migratory game bird regulations
