View Full Version : Anyone want to go shooting Sunday morning?

I'd be up to go around that 10am starting point that most places open up. I usually just end up goign to badger at about 10:30, but if people want to go to fletcher's or shooter's shop or something, that can be done too.

Just bringing the GSG and the XD, but probably will shoot just the gsg.

Anyone?

I'm probably also going to badger tonight just to sight in the reflex on the gsg and see how much more fun it is.

gsg jammed up on me tonight. that sucked. cut shooting time in half. had to come home and clean the shit out of it and make sure it's oiled up poperly. reflex was WAAAAY off. Couldn't hit the targer at 25 feet or even 10ft, haha. too bad I didn't get to sight it in, was about to have some fun with that, haha.

awesome. i'm down for next Sunday too. I pretty much do go every sunday, so we can make it a BCM thing then too.

What you thinking about picking up? Something for you? or for the kids? If that M&P is still there, you need to get that, haha.

If that M&P is there, that is exactly what I will be buying and shooting that day. If not, the boy and I will most likely shoot my 9mm and .40 carbines.

Just the grey and fox ends sunday, you can still snipe the red squirrels all year 'round, also coyotes are open all year. I found out, by reading the small game book, I can hunt greys all year long, as I am a landowner, cool, I did not know that. :thumbsup

For clarification...

I will be at Fletcher's this Sunday and I'm assuming Brad will come too.

For next Sunday, I will go to Fletcher's again and it looks like we'll have a larger group.

Goat Roaper, I'll be there both Sunday's. So up to you what you want to do :) If you want to do just one or both.

Anyone have a specific time they want to meet. Maybe 10:30am?

Never been to Fletchers. I also don't own a pistol. I do have a .22 rifle, which when I go indoor, I usually go to Badger.

I'd be interested in attending though. Not non topic but does anyone know of a good public outdoor range? All the ones I've found are member-only.

It was busy as all hell this morning. I forgot how small their range is compared to other places. It's hard to pick up your own brass there since they don't have a small sweep or tray to pick it up. Definitetly alot dirtier than badger.

I think we should aim for noon next week as the place quieted down around that time. Then moels and the boys can shoot with us. I've never shot with so many people around us, and someone had a BIG GUN there. That husband/wife combo had some big ass pistols. NO idea what it was, but those revolvers would shake the building, haha.

yeah it is on the dirtier side seeing that its just a warehouse. That gun that they were shooting I think was a 500 magum. I been around a 44 magnum when being fire and that gun was way louder then the 44. The guy working behind the counter was laughing and said I think that one is a 500. The flexing of the plexi glass behind them was insane, as well as the muzzle flash.

I was asking questions to the guys behind the counter and they were very friendly and didnt look at me with discuss when I was bugging them.

Goat Roper
01-31-2010, 02:37 PM
Yeah that was a good time, guys behind the counter were helpful and friendly.

But baby Jesus and Tom Cruise, those cannons that have already been brought were were insane. Like Scott said, the plexi-glass bowing behind them when they shot was just unreal.

Josh had a damn good time and he is getting pretty good with his shot, although that scope on that gun at a max range of 50 feet wasn't much of a challenge. He did do it though standing the entire time.

we all took seperate lanes. kinda sucked cause we all started/finished at seperate times, but Scott(Silver350) stayed throughout even after he was done and we all chatted afterwards. Was cool to have our little group.

Scott, those photos are awesome! That first target you showed me was impressive as hell! That was like a half dollar group AT MOST, haha. Maybe tighter. And Josh sure seemed to be having a great time, so that's awesome too.

About 120rds of the .22 trying to get the sight better off.

probably 75rds of the 9mm. I hadn't shot that in so long I forgot how loud it was, haha.

Goat Roper
01-31-2010, 06:40 PM
Your 9mm threw me for how loud it was. Wasn't the howitzers in the left lanes but damn, was loud for a 9.

I will be back in Iowa next weekend but look forward to doing this another time.

THAT is the question, hahaha.

Jamie, if you ever are in need of 40S&W, try a farm and fleet. That's usually where I found mine and theyd have stock piles of it. Gander in brookfield has some Winchester personal protection 40S&W in like 25rd boxes for buy one get the second at 50%. I think they are just unloading the small bundles of ammo cause there was a TON of different ammo in that stand in the middle of the aisle. I think they had lik 20 boxes of the 40S&W at the time I looked, I just didn't need any more(this was just this past week Wednesday)

I ended up finding federal .40 at walmart in muk-town for 13.97/box so I picked up 4 boxes. Weird that it was cheaper than the WWB. I was thinking about getting a conversion barrel for 9mm but haven't decided whether or not to do it yet. :rolf

that's for 50rds right?

I should make the trip out there since I can always use more 9mm ammo. Down below 1000rds now, haha. But have like 200 casings ready for reloads.

I'd keep it Jamie if it's alot. Never know when you can use it if it's being kept in proper storage. If it's only like 2-3 boxes of 50 rds, then that's not a big deal.

Nowadays from waht others have said, you never know what ammo prices are gonna do, haha.
