Don't quote me on this but I believe they look like the '94-'98 Cobra rims. I think the '94/'95 Cobra rims were plain and the '96-'98 Cobra rims had the black inside the holes.

But once again don't quote me on that.

The Pace Car got the painted centers, but those style wheels were available for a few years.

My curiosity about these wheels was driving me crazy and after some detective work I figured out the 'mystery'. The information was found in two places; first from this very expensive book I bought several years ago called the Hollander Wheel Interchange Manual, and second from Car-part.com. The manual (which I forgot about having until just now :goof ) is the book version of wheels on Car-part.com but with more specific technical information. Don't know why I didn't think of these two options sooner.....

Here is the rundown of these style wheels used from `94-98 (if anyone cares to know):

`94-95 had two choices, both with a polished aluminum face. The pace cars received the argent (dark grey) paint between the spokes and cobras received the silver paint between the spokes.....

`96-97 had one style that only came on cobras, pace cars were done for. These had a machined face with the argent paint between the spokes, just like the wheels pictured in the first post of this thread.....:)

`98 had one style only found on the GTs, they had a machined face with silver paint between the spokes. This year and only this year came with a solid faced hub cap which showed no lug holes, unlike the `94-97 style where you can see the lugs.....

There you have it, the cold hard facts for these wheels that nobody seems to care for but myself. If you're curious I plan to put this style wheel on a particular Aerostar if I end up buying it. They should make it look decent enough to be seen in on a daily basis, it will be my only vehicle once I move to AZ......:(
