Garage heater

I was looking for a garage heater, preferably LP and came across an 80,000 BTU version of one of these: http://www.shopfnc.com/gasheater/allpro5.htm on craigslist for pretty cheap. Anybody ever have a convection heater like this or is my best bet a torpedo heater?

That one you listed will work good.....You can run those off a 20 LB tank , I use a 40 LB tank on mine and it lasts pretty long....One thing I learned about these type heaters is NOT to buy the huge 150,000 BTU and up Propane heaters unless you are going to run it on a 100 LB or larger tank as the flow rate is so high on those you freeze the regulator up when it's cranked up higher.....The one you listed can run at full blast and not even freeze up a 20 LB tank.....

Just some info...


If anybody is ever wondering how many hours a heater will last on different size bottles, there is about 21,500 BTU's per lb. of propane.
So an 80,000 BTU heater will last about 5.5 hours on a 20lb. bottle.
