finally got the ls1 and t56 installed along with a custom aluminum driveshaft and tubular tourque brace, last weekend. all went fairly smooth, except that i broke the oil pressure sending unit, no big deal. now i just have to finish up my fuel system, clutch hydraulics, wiring, cooling system and i can go raise some hell on the streets again! anybody want to host some pics for me?

Nice swap! I would like to see it sometime. Once my 240Z GN swap is done, us two hybrids should go out and show some people what a great power to weight ratio does for ya. :burnout

good guess, that is exactly what happened! nearly $4k for a new streetported rotary w/ upgraded apex seals etc and it only lasted 14k miles. one ping is all it takes with those f%#@in things. it was sorta fast - high 12's @ 110-112 when it would run right, but the laggy parallel turbo setup and lack of torque(think vtec powerband) sucked for autocross.

HAHAHAHH Yeah that was the first time i seen a rotary motor out of the car... looks like a beer keg with a crank shaft and some accesories :goof

Low end torque will be there this time :shades

Especially w/ the cam we installed, that thing allows for a considerable low end grunt

:3gears:

My guess is high 11's @ 116 + w/o ANY traction :thumbsup

1800 here... j/k

T56, doesn't the first number show the potential for hp by hundreds? The 5 means about 500 hp?

was it a black 2nd gen w/ acura rsx wheels? if so, that's ray from port washington. he has a '98 driveline, the only mod he has is a cold air intake, running cats w/ factory rotary catback! consistent low 12's @ ~115 mph.

thought i'd throw in an update. got the car running, scared the s#%t out of me the first time i turned the key, it's a bit loud with open headers! my y pipe should be finished this weekend, custom radiator should be in next week, so if all goes well it may be making its maiden voyage with a real motor next weekend, can't wait! :3gears:

Thats awesome dude... Mine is finished as well, except for a few little details and vanity stuff. I will hopefully be starting it this weekend. If all goes well I may just be out on Highway on Saturday. :D

No I just ended up buying the Helms manuals and going through all the wiring myself, with some help from a few people.
