another ps3 question.... [Archive]

so when i set up my ps3 it was on the new tv...then i took it to the basement and hooked it up to my old 720 hd tv...i get sound but no picture...works fine on the other t.v. and my ps2 works fine on the old tv as well..am i missing something here?

need to reset the ps3, hold the power button for 10 seconds and it will do its autoscan thing again for you to change the video options

so i got the blu ray figured out....next question....

when i have the ps3 hooked up to my 1080 tv the game nba 2k10 still only plays at 720? on the box it says supporst 720 and 1080? is it the game or am i missing something again?
thats the only game i have so i cant check another game!!! thanks again!!!!

And you are 100 percent sure you have the ps3 hardcoded to 1080? it might be the game as well, not all games do 1080p.

Are you sure the game box says 1080P and not 1080i? Double check your video settings too to make sure its set at 1080P. If you have the system set at 1080P for a game that doesn't support it, it'll bump it down to 720P.

got mgs today and that plays in 1080. The box for nba 2k10 says supported hd output 720p 1080i and 1080p. cant find anything about it online though? must be the game i guess....

With some of those games you actually have to turn off 720p support to force them into 1080p (provided they support it). It's like they default to the lower one if both are made "available" in the display setup. GTA4 in particular does this to me and I can't imagine it's just that one game. I end up having to switch my display settings all the time depending what game i want to play.
