View Full Version : Helmet @ the track
So...
does anybody know the reasoning behind having to wear a helmet @ 13.99 or faster? What kind of injury is it ging to prevent at 13.99 that it's not going to prevent at 15.0?
What brought this up is the wife and I were watching "Pass Time" the other day and she asked why some guys have a helmet and others don't. I had the 13.99 answer... but had nothing when she asked what injury it's supposed to prevent...lol.

most cars in the 15's arent coming close to 100 mph. I guess you gotta put a number with the safety rule somewhere.
Still...
80-90 mph can do some damage...lol.

I always figured it was the magical 100mph rule, 13.9-14.1is when the old RWD cars hit 100mph.
Now with FWD cars smoking the hides, trap speeds are much high for traction challenged cars. I've trapped over 115mph only netting a 14, laying a smoky burnout the length of the track. With good traction and a turbo you can run mid 12's at only 110mph nowadays.

I talk it your single :rolf:rolfno, but the wife appreciates my odd sense of humor, no doubt.
Every time she sneezes, instead of "Bless you..." she gets "stop sneezing" :goof

You should try, "Did you get any on you?"
