I'm going to be buying a new t.v in the next few weeks and was wondering if anyone here works at a place and can get me a deal?

looking for a 46+ plasma 1080
would consider a lcd if the deal was good enough...Thanks!!!

Look in the paper... There are tons of deals right now on all tvs. You will find 36 month financing in a few weeks again around superbowl time, should see a 46" plasma for under 700.

Look at tv's locally and fine the one you like. Once you know what you want I would highly recommend checking with Tigerdirect.com
We got our Sony 42 lcd 1080 last year around Feb/Mar. They were clearing out tv's for the new model year. Picked ours up $200 cheaper than it could be found locally, free delivery and no sales tax.
They also have several stores in the Chicago area.

same here. bought a "last year's model" from best buy. still new in box though, butjust was short 1 HDMI port compared to new model(it has 3 inputs anyways)

have a 50" Panasonic plasma. I love it. Great picture once set right. 1080 works great, bluray looks awesome(fifth element looks fantastic)

I loved my old Pioneer 50" plasma too.

A couple of weeks ago, sony outlet and american had some nice tv's for under a 1000 and a free ps3. Look into deals like this.

Look in the stores and then go to www.nextag.com and enter the model number in the search box and you will see all the companies on the internet selling the same tv and the price including shipping to your door. I have bought two TVs recently this way with great success and alot of savings.

Again, go on nextag or google the model number and you will really see if it is a good deal. The internet is a beautiful thing.

IMO Id spend more and get a new samsung led tv. Picture blows away any other tv I've ever seen.

i don't know about you, but when i was at BB yesterday they had two samsung 55"ers right next to each other. one was standard LCD while the other was i think an "edge lit" LED which cost about $1000 more. to me the picture on the LED was a little bit better, but i wouldn't have been able to tell the diff. if they weren't next to each other. If i was to pony up the extra money i would def. look for the LED one that is the whole screen not just to edge lit one.

That number means nothing on plasmas. It is only important on LCDs. The plasma have instant refresh times.
