Anyone know of a good, trusted, installer? I have the parts already just need an honest installer that does good work.

This is what I have to put in:

12W6V2 - JL Audio 12" DVC Subwoofer
X200.2 - Phoenix Gold Xenon 400 Watt 2 Ch. Amplifier
X600.1 - Phoenix Gold Xenon 600 Watt Mono Amplifier
ES-620 CDT Audio Eurosport 6.5" 2-way Component Speakers
CD5030 Eclipse Head Unit (I wanted the CD7200 MKII but no one anywhere has them as they are 8v preout)

Want to get the doors sound deadened as well as the trunk this time around (this is my third system).

Project 2 or do it your self, it isnt that hard, and you can get the install kits for all as well as the wiring kits from crutchfield

I'm planning on having it sound deadened and some quick disconnect connectors put in for the amp rack and possibly a fiberglass box for the sub so I think I'll look for a good shop. I shot Philly-O a pm.

I have a $1350 ACOG (telescopic rifle sight) I'd trade for the install and fabrication.

Project Two is getting the car on Wednesday.

$1800 install including all wiring, sub box, amp rack, dynamat doors etc...

Everyone over there seems really nice. They did however say that $1800 was a budget install....I have to disagree on that though as $1800 is not cheap when all the speakers/amps/subs/head unit are provided. All in all though it was a good experience talking to them via email and in person. I would recommend pending the final results.

Looking forward to see what they do...

Sorry dude, but that is ridiculous for a few hours work. I assume your getting a custom FIT sub box wrapped or painted for that price? Better be dropping the headliner and pulling the carpets too.

That 1800 is what they told me a fiberglass install in my car would be when I had them to the custom box/sub/amp install that I won at the BCM car show last year. When I got there I dropped the car off at 8 and picked it up at about 5. Everything was neat and clean in the install, no wires showing, box bolted down, and everything was a tight fit. They tuned the headunit for the new subs, as well as installed a toggle switch for the dvd player (so it can be playing dvd's while the vehicle is in motion). I was very impressed with the install and how tight the fitment of the box was in the trunk. A1 service by far.

Im sorry but you can't put a cost on quality. I've seen hack jobs before and I've also see Projects work at shows. I think you made a wise decision, and what it really boils down to is if you have the money to make it happen, I beg the question, why not? If you want it professionaly done CORRECT you will have to pay.

Good choice, you will be pleased with the end result. Play and enjoy. :)

I like my tunes and the wife doesn't like it when I blast the radio in her car.

And when I mean blast I really mean to say that I like my tunes loud and crisp/clear as if I am in a concert...not all the time but often enough to upgrade the radio.

The GTO had a stereo as well and it was all quickly removed for the track...I don't use back seats so yes the rear seats are coming out.

Think it gives the Cobra a nice drag/muscle car look. The 505A's give it too much of a bling look and the SP500's seem fine but for some reason I don't think they will work as well on red.

What is hushmat? Dynomat? I dunno, seems to me it was about 20-22 hours of labor. Unless shop rate is 100 an hour? I dunno, it looks good and the sub box itself fits great. The back seat delete is just that, different strokes for different folks.

the plan was that, about 24 hours of labor...it ended up taking longer than that but when you quote something that is the price in my opinion. the $1800 quoted wasn't all labor, rob had the equipment and still needed the parts to install. hushmat is a similar product to dynamat that we are trying right now. it is a bit more plyable than dynamat and easier to work with also. not sure the price difference but so far what we have used it in seems to work as well.

it is like dynamat extreme without the metal backing, instead it has a plastic backing which mackes it softer and easier to work with. in most applications it seems to work as well, the only thing i see it lacking is thermal value. i can take a pic of it monday or if you would like to stop by i can cut you a peice so you can feel a side by side difference with dynamat extreme.
