Service has been terrible lately. The system has dropped to the house over 50 times in the last two weeks. I want to switch but not much out there for choices. Any deals to be had?

Need input ASAP

Is your modem just going?

I had a 2wire that was dropping in and out, and then finally just gave up the ghost. Bought a new modem and haven't had an issue since.

My DSL service is hundred times more reliable then Roadrunner ever was.

No its actually loosing the signal to the house. Ill go down ad look at the lights and every flipping time the DSL light is flashing red

My road runner never fails, canceled Cable though as that signal was totally shit.

I have the same problem. Service sucks. Reset modem about 5 times an hour

I bought a Netgear Wireless N/G modem router. Was a little more expensive but is worth it so far. My signal strength is so much better. I went from only getting a 50-60% strength in my basement for my PS3 to it being in the 90's.

I had that crap for about an hour then I reset the modem and it cleared out, no issues since except for the damm bill.lol Dan, do you have the newer modem by any chance. I had alot of issues the 2nd day of service but then a new updated modem was installed and been fine since.

I've reset it 3 times in 10 min now. Maybe when it comes time to pay the bill I will pro rate it for the amount of time its down

Mine is the complete oppsite of you. My RR has always been outstanding. In the past several years we have had it, its maybe lost its signal once. Like Pork thou, we also got rid of the cable cuz it was too fucking expensive. But we kept the RR.

^ who do you use for tv? Right now we are using boxee.tv software on a computer and pulling all out TV off the internet. It rules, free cable with less commercials more or less. My Net Gear wireless router kicks ass so load time is pretty short

well since you mentioned tv, we need a new alternative to directv. service is good... customer service is ok at best... prices seem WAY to high. We don't get any hbo, cinemax....etc movie channels. No HD service. 1 dvr box, 2 regular boxes (3 total). We pay about $86 a month. Seems kinda high :confused

well thats probably cause whoever installed ur services left u with shit ass signal and bad signal equals bad pic and also hard time ordering movies i wired my house from pole to boxes all lines ran by me havent had one prob in 5yrs of being here

well, if bad install jobs leads to bad tv service, then maybe time warner should try to have some more accountability for their techs who do crap work.

that was a more recent issue with them, it wasnt always like that but then again they had so many blockers or boosters on my line it was stupid and they always reused shit never once running new wiring. I did like that with my att, I got new wiring EVERYWHERE and they bundled them and hid as much as they could plus installed wall jacks/ports.

I love roadrunner. Have had it for many years now. My experiences with Time Warner Cable (tv service)'s customer center had left me so aggravated and unsatisfied, that I will NEVER go back to them for TV service. So much so, I'd rather go without any TV service then go back to them again.

And whatever chucklehead time warner tech we had here at our house left the wiring looking like a mess. Roadrunner works just fine, but they got shit hangin down from the rafters in the basement, junk all over the place.

Seems like picking a TV service company is much like voting in politics now a days.... Just gotta pick a lesser of the evils... Either way, they all suck :thumbsup

Road Runner is awesome. There's a thread somewhere where people were posting their speeds and Road Runner was consistently fast.

We decided to try Direct TV and so far so good. We had it go out one time and that was the past huge snow storm when we got roughly 15" in
Jefferson. NFL ticket was another major factor why we wanted to try Direct TV.

That sounds kick ass the way you're doing it. Is it tough to do?

AT&T's internet is junk. Their TV is alright minus the fact HD sucks complete balls and you shouldn't have to pay for that garbage. I really can't believe how much it sucks, as a former installer you wouldn't believe how many complaints I'd get. "Oh...its going to get better"...not.

Dan you must have went with a better package to get the 1 meg download?

Don't use Germantown. It's on their own farkin' network. Of course you're going to get bling download speeds with a peer. Set it to someone in Peoples Republic of Calipornia and then post it.

Its easy, the boxee software is free all you need is a way to hook your computer up to your tv. I have a separate computer for JUST the tv, it has HDMI on the mobo. Boxee supports Netflix instant watch too for your movies viewing pleasure.

Picture is great on the HD feeds

I'll try it when I get home...but getting 14 Mb/s to california from my GF's house. Still double att's garbage
