I'd like to find a complete or mostly complete vintage Mongoose or any late 70's or early 80's vintage BMX. Doesn't have to be nice but restorable. Something that I can clean, build, restore with my kids.

Let me know what you have. No freestyle bikes please.

Mine looks similar to this. Has the black seat, chrome is pitted. I'll get a picture of it tomorrow morning. Its still at my Mom's house.

Mongoose bikes bring back great childhood memories, like the time I was nearly killed by my parents while riding one down our alley and across the street.....

Raced and Freestyled as a kid. Each of my kids have Dyno's right now. I wish I had a Mongoose or Supergoose to offer you.

Beware if you deal with any guys on craigslist. There are a lot of d-bags out there that are in it for money and say otherwise. One of those "Rad" museum guys got me going with it to help him look for stuff and fund my motor rebuild and then turned real ugly when I kept the good stuff. I do still know a couple of good guys that might have some of those hard to find parts. what kind of a price range are you looking for?

They are big $$$$, restored hutches are going for $1500+ and ones needing everything $500+

Sorry Scott, come on over and get it, it was still for sale yesterday when Dave called Sam about his house.
With your picture you put up for reference, it was not the era you specified and doesnt look anything like the pic you wanted with the Vintage Mongoose trademark gusset etc., Dave's is even newer than the one he pictured... but its yours if you don't mind a new school one now.
Just give Sam a ring.:thumbsup

I was kidding. It's yours, you collect them. It's not a big deal as I told Dave.

I always wanted a Mongoose, Kuwahara, Thruster or Torker when I was a kid. I just thought it would be nice to get my kids interested as well, all the while get the bike I always wanted. :)

It's not a collectable and not the bike you've always wanted, give me a ring:)

If it's the bike you always wanted , make sure you don't do it up real nice. Other wise you wouldn't want it ridden. I built up a trick star and a skyway and both were ridden about 200 yards before I had second thoughts about scratching it or even getting dirt on the tires. Here was my skyway
