Anyone know any place in the Milwaukee/SE wisconsin area that has any eat challenges?

i've been a huge fan of Man Vs. Food and just can't believe there isn't more places around here that do this kind of thing.

only place i know of that offers this is Johnny V's Classi Cafe.
http://www.johnnyvsclassiccafe.com/

Several brave souls have tried, but few have accomplished the feat that is "The King of Johnny V's Challenge." Can you imagine finishing 10 eggs, 8 pancakes, a plate of hash browns, 3 pieces of bacon and sausage, a slice of ham, AND two slices of Texas toast in under an hour? If so, we challenge you to ante up. Besides being able to tell all your friends that you're the newest King (or Queen) of Johnny V's, you'll get a t-shirt, your mugshot on the wall, and this $15.95 meal for free if you beat the clock.

I live across the street... it's $16 IIRC. I want to see this.

Also, Prime Quarter used to have the Beefeater... 40oz Prime Rib. Finish the steak, plus potato, salad and a piece of Texas toast in under 1:15 and you get a medallion you can trade for a free regular steak ($20).

Attempted 4x. Conquored 3x. I was unprepared the first time. I still have my medallion from the last time.

Who cares??? Food is so good! hahaha. Certain places it's hard not to just stuff your face.

I think it would be funny if a unch of us showed up for that breakfast. We all would be walking out of there like John Candy and the ole 96'er in Great Outdoors.

That's like twice a Perkin's Tremendous Twelve! haha

At kelly's bleachers they have the "4lb burger"; 4lbs of ground beef (and I swear, it's 4+ after it's cooked...broiled btw), w/ a plate of fries. Eat it in an hour, and it's free...otherwise ~20-25 dollars.

I attempted this 5 years ago...was doing well until just around the half-way mark. Got further, felt I could possibly finish...but then realized too much more and I'd be very very sick. So I stopped.

The burger itself is great...bread is terrific, the beef taste seasoned and is delicious (I added mayo and cheese to my burger). It's a great burger to split 4 ways (or more). There was another trying when I was there, and I got through a bit more than he, though he was a bit bigger than me.

Kelly's bleachers at bluemound is where I did this.

Anyone here actually do the BW3's Blazin Wing Challenge? I haven't done it but I don't think if would be a problem. Damn those wings are hot though.

88Nightmare
12-22-2009, 11:42 AM
not only are they hot, I find they taste like pure shit. way too much vinegar to get em that spicy. I don't mind eating hot foods, but if it tastes like crap, where's the fun? Mango Habenero however is simply awesome

I love pancakes. But a plate of hashbrowns.... unless they are fried up nice and crispy, that would kill it for me. Potatoes are a pretty heavy food.

I remember Yoosof concocting some really weird shit at teh BW3's at Mayfair waaaaay back in the day. I've done the blazin challenge. as long as you keep eating them it isn't a big deal so just scarf 'em down. Then worry about it after they are finished, haha. But yeah, the taste isn't the best. I'd take the asian zing or caribean jerk or mango habanero

I did the beaf-eater challenge at Prime Quarter. It was something like a 40 oz steak and a potato, had to finish it in an hour and got it for free? I don't remember.

I don't even think there are any Prime Quarters that are still open, though.

I ROFL'd reading this post... but I gotta say I agree, the pancakes are what scares me off. I could eat a shit ton of eggs and sausages... but V.'s pancakes are HUGE too. I did a trial run a while back with 3 pancakes, 3 eggs and sausage, and had a hard time finishing THAT because their pancakes are so friggin big.

There's some left, just none in Milwaukee. Out by Janesville there is one.

We may have to do a BCM Janesville cruise and do the Beefeater as a group. That would be bad ass.

There is a section in yesterdays weekend cue about some local challenges. The two Charro locations have a 6 to 7lb burrito filled with chicken and beef for 26 bucks or free if finished in less then an hour. It says about 50 tried and 5 have finished it.

Then there is Big Al's cafe which is 8 pancakes. 8 eggs, 8 sausage, 8 bacon and 8 pieces of toast. It says 9 have tried so far and 1 has finished. It's 18.88 and doesn't mention a time limit.

The article also mentions pizza shuttle had one but just discontinued it. It was 28" pizza to be finished by 2 people in under and hour to win 500 bucks. It also lists Johnny V's and says hundreds have tried but only 9 have succeeded.

There was a show last night called Outrageous Food on the foodnetwork and they were at gus' mexican cantina in franklin. They have a 36" and a 72" burrito. They said one guy finished the 36" in 40min I think it was. There were 2 guys trying to take down the 72"(looked smaller then that) and both of them quit after about a foot each.

I just ate a huge donut and all of this stuff is making me sick.

Stubby's has a wing eating challenge. The goal is 53 wings in 53 minutes. That is pretty serious. Last I heard the highest anyone has done was like 25. Heck I've eaten more then 20 wings in an hour and I am not one to eat a ton of food.

We're going to be doing a video there at some point more then likely.

I copied it right from their online menu. I didn't see a time limit.
Their pancakes are about 8". The cakes and the toast would be the biggest hurdle
