I think they stopped making the good stuff a long time ago-
Thanks to the aftermarket, they will live on forever the way Chevy guys WANT them to be thought of!

The BB is a great truck engine, but the move to diesel power and lighter weight trucks kinda killed it. I wonder what they sold as crate engines in the bb line.

Now us imports have a chance! What all the v8 owners do with like 7L or less of displacement? :goof

Agreed. Nothing like a Super Duty Weather its the 421 428 or the 455 with a Doug Nash 5 behind it ;)

Diesel?

Topkick and Kodiaks have primarily been powered by the V8 and I6 duramax diesels since 03', prior to that a cat diesel was an option and big blocks were the norm.

This was the coolest thing they did on the factory engines, my parents hada 92 3/4 ton suburban with a big block and rocked the cool looking cast aluminum valve covers and these decals even though it was one anemic pile of fuck at 230 HP.

Topkick and Kodiak are no more, GM no longer makes medium duty trucks. Probably another factor in not needing a BBC anymore.

I wish they didn't discontinue those valve covers, the 96+ have similar ones just no spot to put the sticker.

Diesel?
Diesel is the future, and not just for trucks. Don't understand why you would ever want a gas engine in a big truck when the comparable diesel is so much better...

Diesels are not the future, if obama has his way. Look what is happening in the big truck market. CAT is now only building engines for off road vehicles.

The restrictions will just keep getting tighter and tighter.

2011 their are some bad emission rules coming for diesels, and need tested!

I can't picture myself buying anything larger than an F150 w/o diesel.

Obama knows that industry runs on diesel.
Manufacturers can also meet the restrictions with little compromise.
