What fast food joint has the best fries? Burger king gets my vote. Curly fries don't count. If you think of a place let me know and I'll add it.

Cousin's are the best, because they make them when you order them, always fresh!

Every other fast food fries have been sitting under a heat lamp for god knows how long, unless you're lucky enough to get a fresh batch once a year.

And they have no salt. I hate salt.

**On that note I would have to retract my vote and say Saz's sour cream and chive fries are by far the best fries, but not fast food**

Kopps has those skinny ones, that are always crunchy. Fries should be crunchy not huge hunks of soggy potato...but thats my opinion...

Culvers has the best fries. I like cousins but culvers has them by a little bit. McDonalds fries are probably the worst on that list.

Five Guys seasoned fries are pretty good, but for stuff that's actually around here I'd say Cousin's or BK.

Culvers is good, Cousins is crap but its been awhile since I had theirs. McDonalds I like, not sure why but I kinda like the greasy floppy kind sometimes. BK's taste kinda bland to me.

If Golden Gyro's is in West Allis of Lincoln, they have awesome greek fries.

I voted Culvers as the best because I really like the flavor of crinkle cut fries. McDs in my opinion is not so good but everyone has their own opinion. The change in oil isn't helping McDs, neither. Since they flash freeze their fries in sugar water, I think you all got addicted to those when you were children. As for Cousins, I think they are the best thin fry you can get...at least the one in Muskego. BK fries are good only because they stay hot longer because the coating they have keeps the heat in longer. I got from a reliable source that Arby's will be getting regular fries again. Can't wait because I don't like seasoned fries...curly or otherwise. Of course for the best fries ever, that would be mine...cut from whole potatos, not pealed, and deep fried. If you can't trust a fat guy about food, who can you trust?

Funny you didn't post Oscar's fries in the list.

French fries are very important.

I like Culver's the best, because:

1) They are sufficient thickness to have good potato-ey body and interior flavor. They are cooked so they are not dried out, but have a mildly firm exoskeleton, surrounding a perfectly cooked, slightly soft interior.
The occasional soft tasty greasy fry is great, in proper proportion to their more-well-cooked bretheren.

2) They are crinkle cut, so they serve the french fry's basic function--a vehicle to carry massive amounts of KETCHUP to your mouth without squirting the bottle directly in the maw--better than non-crinkle-cuts.

3) They do NOT have any filthy disgusting plastic crunch coating.

4) They are not pig-like nasty curly fries. Sorry Arby's.

5) They are not pretending to be WAFFLES...waffle fries are neither waffles nor fries, and serve poorly whether you like the fry thick OR thin.
The waffle fry's unsurpassed ketchup-carrying-capacity is blown away by its vomitous nature.

6) Culver's uses only the finest Idaho potatoes, harvested only during ONE week of each year when the PEAK of potato flavor and goodness are reached.
Everyone else uses off-season green or moldy old potatos.

7) OK the last one was bullshit, but it seems that way so :headbang

8) They come in a nice fry basket when you sit inside at Culver's. Fries are proven to be 24% better tasting when they come in the little cardboard baskets.

9) Culvers uses only Fancy Ketchup, which yes you guessed it, tastes 24% better than any of the shitty ketchup you can buy in stores.

10) Burger King fries suck, they have a small amount of filthy crunch coat. A shame, because Whoppers are SO good, and so good for you, too.

11) McDonald's fries taste great. Just great. Very close battle with Culver's on taste, but the intangibles tip it to Culvers.
McDonalds used to use secret ANIMAL additives to TOTALLY SCREW all the idiot vegetarians into eating BEEF, which was cool, but they were found out years ago.

12) McDonald's fries can NEVER NEVER NEVER be eaten cold OR EVER EVER EVER be reheated. Once they lose their ORIGINAL heat, they become the WORST fries in the world. I think it is nuclear decay of the radioactives they use.
Culver's fries can be reheated.

13) Kopps fries are so thin and lacking in any body or character, they fall apart when trying to gather up any ketchup, they end up a fry-ketchup MESS you have to scoop up with your fingers. Taste ok, but no structural integrity, which the Great Culver's Fries have in spades.

14) Oscar's...I seem to recall them similar to Culvers, but not sure. Their malts make their fries taste better, though.

Havent had Cousin's, Taco John's, Golden Gyros. Will get right on that.

15) ps: Thousand Island Dressing on fries is SO great, it is actually illegal:banana1:

I can only eat mcdonalds fries if its with ranch. @ culvers, I opt for onion rings. Usually the same with Kopps. Georgie Porgies has kickass fries AND onion rings.

some of the worst fries worth mentioning are Steak N Shake's. I still don't get that place. Burgers are meh, fries are meh...why are they still here? I dig the diner vibe of the place but the food is nothing worth going back a second time for

You summed it up quite well. I had it once and have no interest to eat at one again, blah food and not real cheap or anything either IIRC....it's like a wanna be Culvers, just not nearly as good.

I like steak n' shakes chilli dishes...of the Cinciny-style's I've had (skyline, real chilli's), I'd say steak n' shake is the best.

As to fry's? Not a big fan of any fries actually. Takes away from what I really want, ie hamburger or whatever. I never get fries at BK, Taco John's, culver's, wendy's, etc...and only very rarely get the McD's fries.

When I DO go crazy for fries is at sonny's bbq down south...and that's because their fries perfectly hold onto the ketchup replacement that is my favorite tomato based bbq sauce.

Otherwise, I've always enjoyed chili fries too...but the fries aren't important in that case either.

Of the non-fast food places though, I do have to confess a liking for Saz's chive fries w/ ranch sauce.

As the poll reflects, Sonic's food is garbage. Went twice. 99% chance I won't go back unless it's super late and I am in the mood for grease.

Burger King, hands down. McD's are just plain, floppy pieces of crap that bow to BK fries.
