So the Bimmer was to the point where in needed a ton of little things so opposed to spending the money on that I traded into this,
2004 Regal GS
Pretty clean, needs a few things like an ash tray and some better speakers but out side of that if runs and drives fine.

Will be changing the SC oil soon and soon after that I will be looking to get a few more ponies out of it, so.........to those with experience with the 3800sc please chime in so I can pick your heads.

Thanks
MJ

Add a 3.4 and an intake. For about $100 you add about 30HP and REALLY start to wake them up.

After that go with stut tower braces. That way it doesnt have that "Buick" feel to it.

Do the PCM in the spring. You dont want to down shift to hard in the winter. :)

what supporting mods would I need to do a 3.0 pulley? what type of power gains do think it would provide?

also i will have to look into strut tower braces, cause this feels like a yacht compared to what i am used to. lol

Nice looking car and love the 2 tone, those cars came with several nice 2 tone paint jobs.
I really liked 2 tone cars, good looking ones anyway.

3.0 you would need a considerable amount of supporting mods. with the 3.4 pulley, you can do an intake, cooler plugs, thermostat, and you'll probably be fine. my car had that along with a downpipe and tune and it ran low 14s. really wakes it up. how many miles are on it? once you mod the car, the trans will not hold up for all that long....

Yeah after doing a little reading a 3.0 is out, a 3.4 looks like the way I will end up going. The car has a little over 100k on it, how do the trannys hold up with ^^^above said mods?

Intake gaskets, valve cover/injector seal recall, and pending the miles trans work. I loved my GTP but once slightly modified to hell they go. Just enjoy it. My 140k mile ran down the track in 14.8, so to add stress and cost for a lower 14 is up to you.

A stock W body will do high 14's all day long. Add a 3.4 and intake and you got low 14's with a good 60'.

If you want to run a 3.0 add DHP/ZZP PCM, headers and 1.9 rockers. A cam would be better then rockers but a lot more work to install.

not long. in theory of course. mine had 85k on it when i bought it. modded it, and by 100k the trans was starting to go. they're great, strong transmissions, for the stock output. once you mod it, it goes. fact of life with the l67

Geez,

Have to go way into the memory bank for L67 info.... lol. The cars Last just fine as long as you treat the car like it should be treated! Don't drive like a jag. I had mine running 12.4 and not one problem. 3.4, pcm, intake, 1.9 rockers, downpipe. Enjoy:thumbsup

Do the sc motors use the same tranny as a na motor

Well, it is a BUICK. I don't think the strut tower brace will do a damn thing for you when the struts/springs are designed to give it that ride. Hell yea it is going to feel like a land yacht compared to a bmw. I say just leave it be and enjoy the power and smooth ride.

I leased my civic to be the "daily driver" because the evo was so stiff. This damn thing isn't much better, lol.
