the bigger question would be why would anyone do something like that. the conversion had to of cost more than 3500

If you had a trailer and a truck that was smashed in the rear it wouldnt be that bad, cut the back of the truck off and go to town with a welder and some steel.
There are company's that made these but used a 1 ton truck to start with.
My biggest concern would be how well the front drive train holds up being the primary, I think it would still bind alot on low speed tight turns.
