View Full Version : I thought prices should go down because of Saudi Arabia?

I just saw gas prices at 2.04 a gallon!!!

My dad told me Saudi Arabia began to pump more gas after cutting back.

Will it only take more time until prices fall again???

My friends gas was stolen because someone siphoned it.

Why Why Why

Prices only go up quick, but for some reason they fall slowly. Someone farts by a refinery and the price goes up .20 within an hour. :fire

The Saudi's are not pumping more oil. The Saudi Arabian oil minister has suggested to OPEC that they raise production and OPEC will discuss it on June 3rd. Until then... nothing changes.

Id love to see someone siphoning my fuel (diesel) into their car (gas). :asshole

Nothing will ever change. Its just like taxes. Once they realise how much money they make and the fact that people pretty much have to and will pay it, they will always just keep going up.

OPEC cuts production which fuels demand creating higher prices. They are greedy....then again these countries have almost nothing else to offer besides oil, so if other countries play hardball with them with trade or other economic terms, maybe they can *persuade* them to go down.

Suppose they had a Jetta TDI??

Suppose they had a Jetta TDI??

Thats why I put "gas" in brackets.

Id sure love to have a TDI about now... 45mpg on 1.77/gal fuel. If I bought a car... that'd be it.

I hear some of those guys have turned the wick up on those TDI's to get into the 15's :tomato

In all fairness...the great thing about those TDi's is that if you do turn up the wick, gas mileage doesn't suffer.

BTW brandon....have you run your truck yet at the strip? How's about some dyno numbers? guesstimates?

Ive kept the truck on the very mild side for now. Once the fuel system upgrades are done, I may get a more aggressive power box, but then the transmission is on borrowed time.

Guesses? Well stock is 235hp (crank) + 65(rwhp[power box]) + 50(rwhp[injectors]). Stock torque is at 460tq (crank) + 180(rwtq[power box]) + 120(rwtq[injectors]). Intake and exhaust arent worth counting. On paper we'll call it 350hp and 750tq... but we all know what good paper estimates are

I honestly have no idea on track times. The I6 Cummins likes to uproot trees and relocate houses more than it likes to run down the 1/4. Runs 0-60 pretty damn well though so that keeps me happy... for now :3gears:

The Duramax and 6.0L Powerstroke are quite appealing for that.... and now that I get the Ford X plan pricing... its makin me think.

Like the TDI... with the power mods... my mileage remains the same... and has even gone up a bit. :thumbsup

And now back to your regularly scheduled topic.... :goof

I have to fill up around every 6 days. That's if I drive with care. 13 mpg to 14 on the freeway. No overdrive and 3.73 gears with a Q-jet.
