any one know how or have ideas on how to drop a sbf with t5 into a 3rd gen firebird?

im just seeing if its possible i have an extra set up from my mustang and the firebird only has a v6 alot of people always do sbc into a mustang so i figured i would switch it up

well its probably just a matter of making the mounts. dist is in front so it give you some space to get down to the bell husing bolts. other then that I know a guy who put a built 393 in a 69 camaro... plus im sure it has the 7.5" 10 bolt in it which wont like any high ammount of power!

yea i already have to replace the rearend anyways its starting to go thanks for some advice on possibly getting it started

No, but what IS a joke is if you look at current drag radial records it takes a BBC to run with a SBF:rolf

in all seriousness,i would be hesitant to "build" the car from spare parts if you are looking for the "cheap" outcome.

prob easiest to use motor/midplates for mounting,then maybe something for the trans crossmember,depending how close they are to fitting. overall even though you "have all the drivetrain" its still not a cheap,straightforward swap. dont forget about little things like headers(can easily turn into $1000+) if its your dream car and engine/trans.....go for it.
