Not surprised. Probably was bolted to the floor using 2x2 pads made out of 16 gauge steel.

This is why I was okay with Adam spending so much on a full roll-cage welded in by a professional on his project car and why I appreciate my welded in roll-bar in my car.

I wouldn't write all bolt-in bars as junk. I have one in my car which bolts to the rear shock towers and has 6x6 plates through a thicker area of floor behind the seats(next to seat belt attachment points). When I eventually do front bars I will have the mounting points behind the seats welded.

Sounds like the bar in that mustang was poorly designed and inadequate for what looks like a pretty serious car.

now wait a minute, I thought roll bars are designed for a car ROLLING on its side then the roof NOT an immediate bottom to top flip! That puts the entire weight of the car on its roof at once not a gradual weight transfer as in it rolling onto its side then onto the roof there is a big difference in how fast the weight is getting dumped onto the roof. Not to mention asshat cut away portions of his c-pillar weakening the vehicle's structure already. A rollbar IMO is most likely designed to work with the structure already in place in the car not in complete replacement of it.

The thing pancaked, plus all the windows were replaced with plexiglass ta boot. Without a windshield you took the strongest part of the car away with a flop like that.
