alright i replaced my brake booster today. I was trying to narrow down a knocking sound i get everytime i press the bakes. i thought maybe it had to do with the rod that connects to the pedal.

i put on the brake booster and went to go for a quick drive to see if it fixed the problem. well now my pedal is real spongy and i have to press the pedal almost half way down before the brakes grab. I didnt remove any brake lines or anything. i simply un-bolted the master from the booster and swapped boosters. There are no visible leaks

Does this sound like air got in the system and they just need to be bled?

If you didnt open the system there is no chance you got air unless you damaged the seal on the back of the master re installing it. Check to make sure the rods are the same length. Some rods are adjustable but only so much as to much can cause brake drag

that's why auto zone sucks. I got two faulty tps sensors from them, and horrible service.

You're better off with a junkyard booster than a reman one, especially if it came from somewhere other than here. I've had so many bad reman ones I don't even bother anymore. It's kind of like a Chinese starter, why even bother?
