New Dog park: Capitol/45/Hwy100

Currie (golf coarse) off leash, fenced and double gated dog park.

I have yet to master linking google maps...too much model glue as a kid but it's on the SE corner of Hwy 100 and Capitol, directly attached to the maint building on the Currie golf course. Two entrance points:

Capitol Dr East from I-45, "very" first right into parking area.

Missed that turn? South on Hwy 100 from Capitol, first right is Mennomonie Pkwy, up an 1/8 of a mile on right.

Totaly fenced, plenty of people and dogs. Never seen my dog so tired! Place is like a mile from myself or Pork, Prince Valient close bye and others so sound off if you head there Sunday (pending Vikings game if delevised here!).

It looks like the Dog Exercise Areas (DEA) require a permit:

Those sheep doors rock man, nice job. It was dark but I ran the inner perimeter with my dog....ok well I made it 3/4 the way and stopped for a smoke but it looked great!

I was pumped up about the park till I read that, my wife is screaming in the other room about tax's...dam it would have been cool being so close...oh well back to free park walks.

Hard to get all the dogs today, more to the sides. Every dog that left, another one or two arrived. Never thought I would see my dog so wiped out!

X2,i take mine to the county grounds where there's a nice wooded area with trails a big open area for the dogs to run.It's behind the Ronald McDonald house,it's not an official dog park but alot of people take there dogs there.

I made up the word, I'm just calling it pre permit because nobody today even knew it was gonna be a fee based area we met with. I dont have to tell you the reaction of the people, pretty disgusted but they were Milw residents and used to being pushed around.

The temp permit box has no donation envelopes in it, the other entrance doesnt even have the box yet. They look like the steel box's you see at State parks for money drop off.

We stopped to check it out, its pretty small compared to the parks we frequent and any kidn of charge to get in is ridiculous. If they want to charge, they better hire someone to pick up dog shit, wash your dogs before you leave, wash our shoes before you leave, all for free.
