I haven't disagreed with much that Doug Melvin has done but I have to question this one. The guy made every start (34), had 14 wins, and did it all with a sore knee. He gave up a lot of taters but he pitched a shit ton of innings too.

The dude had a 5.22 ERA and let up 39 HR's, he's defiantly replaceable. Hopefully this means better pitching is on the way

yeah. i thought he would stick around for next season. i think that with all the dingers he gave up, they should have been able to get him cheap?!?!

He was terrible....thank god they declined it, I was scared it would be picked up. Wins mean nothing for a pitcher and for what he was set to make again, they can use that for someone with actual upside.

I will agree that his knee might of had a negative effect on him so he can surely be better, but he has never been more than a #4 type starter, the Brewers need all the money they have to find a more talented guy.

If they would have picked up his option he would have gotten paid 6.5 mil next year, not worth it with those stats.

See ya. You can't survive in the big leagues with an 84mph fast ball. Watching him pitch against the Phillies was actually comical!
