Beautiful 17" Macbook Pro (2008 model). It's newly refurbished and comes with a 90 day warranty. It's been tested and works just fine. Has the High-Res 1920x1200 glossy screen. 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo T9300 Processor 2GB Memory and 250GB Hard Drive. Comes with box, battery, Macbook (obviously), and ac adapter. Has OS X 10.5 (Leopard) installed, but no restore discs (you can find them on eBay for about $20). $1450 obo. No, it's not eligible for AppleCare.

Why was it refurbished and why are you selling?

If you see my stickied thread at the top of the Classifieds you'll see my post on being a computer and electronics reseller. Well, Macbooks are one of the things I'm reselling. So, I needed one as a "demo" unit that I could look over, take some pictures of, and get a general idea for the condition of the refurbishing job before I start reselling this model. Most of the Macbooks I sell get drop-shipped from the warehouse directly to my customers. Anyway, I never had any intention of using it other than for the purpose of doing what I already described, then reselling it.

So, other than the diagnostics I've run on it, it hasn't been used since it was refurbished. As for why it was refurbished... I have no idea. My distributor doesn't list the reasons though when the word "refurbished" is used, understand that it doesn't necessarily mean that there was anything wrong with it to begin with. Any product that is brought back and resold (even a lease return) is considered refurbished.

If you don't like this one, there are over 50 different models I have access to which range in price from about $600 to over $1600. Most of them are 2008 stock, some are as old as 2006, and there are a few newer ones with the black keyboards, non-removable batteries, etc...

I did not realize that you were in computer sales and was under the impression it was "refurbished" by you. I'll talk to my Dad, and see what he has to say about it. Thanks for clarification.

I'm not much of an Apple person myself, but I do have to complement them on a few really nice design ideas. For one their magnetic power port is a stellar idea. The power plug is held in by a magnet with just enough force to provide a solid connection. However, if someone trips over (a toddler gets a hold of the cord and yanks it) the computer isn't going to go flying. Likewise you don't have issues with the adapter port solder connections on the motherboard breaking after years of use.

Sorry, my Dad says it is too much for what he would be looking for. Thanks
