WTF my X-box got banned and I didn't even do nothing....

I've seen a lot of 360's getting band for no apparent reason...

Seems like Microsoft needs more money. F-er's

i dont mean to be a dick but this couldnt have happened at a worse time. Was that shit modded? good timing. Now you need a new xbox to be able to play the game of the year hahaha.............

alot of bad reviews from gamers will get you kicked from live for a bit. maybe create a new user on your box and start over, see if that works.

I tried it all.. I only played live with my friends and they never report me cause they do the same shit... I found out the MS did a banning wave on the 31st, but yet I don't have a modded box.
A lot of people are pissed I see on fourms.

do they ban the hardware or the user do you know? I wonder if you can import the user on someone else's box just to see.

Uh yea..... Not sure why you would get banned unless the box is modded. I would think you need a new box. Get on the phone with them and find out why that happened.

They won't say nothing to me because they don't have to clause.

Just talked to some of my friends too and they got banned as well, so I am assuming there checking for any type of material they think is not in good taste.

If this isn't theft I don't know what is.

no i do not... I was reading off their terms. So pretty much anything they don't like they'll ban you...
But I'm reading more online and they did the banning cause of the holidays and MW2.
I guess they got pissed to find out that people were playing it early.
Yet again, mine is not modded in anyway, nor is their bad content.

Yup!

On another note, I have been a XBL member for 4 or 5 years.. Never been banned or warned. I don't think they just ban @ random.

Also, PS3 on-line does not seem as polished as XBL.

I'd swap to a PS3 - but, for the same reason as Joe, I only have/play xbox with my friends online.

I don't know that I have ever actually played a game in the normal game mode - only on live with some friends.

ps3 is slowly coming around as far as online gaming and connecting with friends. im actually starting to prefer my ps3 over the xbox in the house.

i like how its all blu tooth whats pretty cool i hear they plan on making it so you can link you phone to the ps3 and a few other odds and ends.

Sorry to say, but the Xbox is still the only way to go - even with all the "issues".

Sure, early ones RROD'ed but I have had two in the house for years - one since launch and it RROD'ed after a year or two and i had it fixed locally once since I didn't want to wait, and than it RROD'ed again but they replaced it no questions asked and it has been fine for several years since. No problems ever with my elite. My son and I play ALOT and have never been banned or had any RROD issues since the launch box.

I have never heard or anyone being banned "for no reason". In the past it has been mainly modded boxes, or material like games ahead of launch or game RELATED info prior to launch like videos etc. The recent bannings are largely because a ton of people have been passing around the new Modern Warfare 2. Not just the game as well - videos of gameplay, etc. It is the biggest launch probably of recent years, possibly EVER. I guess I can understand them taking action. If you stupidly have any of that shit touching your xbox, you will probably be banned.

I have had a PS3 for probably 2 years as well. I never use it except to play blue rays. The exclusive games aren't nearly as good (though I may check out Uncharted 2 it is supposed to be awesome), th online isn't even close to what Live is, EVERYONE is on Live, the downloadable content is way better for most games. Even the games that they release for both consoles 99% of them are better on the Xbox if you read comparisons on sites like Gamespot. The Xbox, despite the PS3's alledged greater hardware capability, almost always has slightly better graphics and implementation. The Xbox is like the PC - Microsoft has a pretty open policy and works with game developers. The PS3 is like every other Sony product from their laptops to their media players, etc. - they like to have a stranglehold on their stuff its very proprietary and hence game developers have a much tougher time.

Get an Xbox. The new ones do not RROD, and if you aren't a jag with pirated material or mod the box you have no worries about getting banned.

I don't have an xbox, but 4 friends at work got banned, and two of them already bought new ones. Microsoft is making some crazy money because of this.

You will notice the subtle differences. The PS3 analog sticks are "loose" compared to the xbox. The xbox allows a person more gradual slower movement. the PS3 has dead zones it seems when you first start moving the stick. It gets quite annoying.

Also there are weird bugs between zombies on the xbox and the ps3. British Ben and Cryptic can attest to this as well.

I agree 100% with this. I own both systems and have CoD5 for both. I also pushed the PS3 more, but once you are get to certain level of play and your demand for more accuracy & control becomes that much more critical, the difference is quite apparent. I hated the XBOX controller initially. It made my hand cramp because I was used the PS3 position. But I am over that now. The precision is better for the slight movements near center stick on the XBOX and that really matters in CoD games. There is "top slop" on the PS3 controllers.

I didn't say that they were doing it for the money, I just meant they are going to make a lot of money from this. I agree 100% for banning people that have broken the rules.
