Looks good!

What intake setup and heads are those? Aftermarket TPI intake setups are pretty pricey! :bling

What did you have on there before, stock stuff?

I'm already planning to find a good roller 350 shortblock and put it in my LS with the TPI setup, the 305 just ain't doing it. Budget build so stock TPI intake but aluminum Vette heads perhaps, and of course a better cam and custom PROM/EGR delete with 350 specific parts(injectors/ESC/knock) and probably better electric fans too.

Looking awesome!! Those photos really get me goin'. What rockers are those? They sort of look like the Comp Cams Pro Magnum roller rockers. I'm envious of the fact you are building a motor at the moment and I am not!!

Thanks guys!! I'm gettin pretty excited to hear/drive it myself.

PB86MCSS: Yeah, I had all stock equiptment on it before this. The intake is the Holly Stealth Ram, and I'm now running Dart Iron Eagle Heads. I also still have my stock TPI stuff if your interested. I won't be needing the intake, plenium, runners, rails, and injectors... Let me know if your interested in anything...

Syclone0044: You guessed it exactly!! I was origanally gonna use the 1.6 GMPP rockers, but had some clearance problems. So Max 93 made me buy these instead. (He's my money spender/teacher) :goof

PB86MCSS
05-06-2004, 07:58 PM
The injectors possibly. How old/miles? I'd assume they fired just fine too....the only thing I'd *need* for a 350 to swap over, and might save me some money over new ones of course, although its a long way off...

No spare money for the other TPI stuff but interested in a price ;). Would be more interested if I decide to go SD or something :D, but MAF is probably what I will stick with.

$150 ain't bad for it all...too bad I'm poor right now, still paying off a credit card for parts charged... :). If you sell it don't worry about me but if you have the injectors later on I might be interested. Even at that price since its a SD intake/runners I don't have much interest. I'm assuming the setup retains your stock wiring harness and thats not for sale?

The heads in 87'+ are centerbolts. 86' and older perimeter bolt. From what I recall a *few* 86' f-bodies could have 350 TPI motors but generally you will never see one, not sure if they got Vette heads or what. F-body 350's got the iron L98's which are ok for stockers if I recall, aluminums more desireable. So you just need a 87'+ intake for 87'+ heads basically, or you can drill out the holes to make it work too one way or another IIRC.

Thanks!! As of right now, I already had the 700R4 built with a shift kit and 2400/2800 (don't member exactly) stall. I had an Aubourn Possi with 3.73's that was gonna go in next, but the carrier got misplaced somehow. I'm thinkin when my checkbook actually starts to hold money again, I'll probably upgrade the suspension to all poly-graphite, and buy some new gears.. again

I also have the full exhaust done... (SLP 1 3/4 headers, no catz, borla with the DMH cutout :thumbsup )

A.) Knows how to do it.
B.) Is Willing and Able to help me out.

So I'm interested to hear which burner you're getting and when? What type of chips are you getting? I heard the Atmel Flash chips are the cat's ass, they don't require a UV eraser. The best burner I could find is the $80 USB one at www.moates.net. Well, best for my budget anyways.

Update: 5-14-03

Well she's about 98% complete. Had a hell of a time trying to mount the stock throttle body to the new plenium. The throttle linkage bracket was hitting the fuel rail. After countless searches, posts, and phone calls, I finally decided a Dremmel was my best option! Took some time to get it just right since I didn't want the throttle cable flying outta there ever, but it's finally on, and not hitting anything!!! Should be firing it up Tuesday afternoon, and then it's time for some PROM tuning!!!

Lookin real good!!! The only thing I'd toss out here, is a suggestion to pick up a new coolant resivour tank and washer tank, they are dirt cheap ($<20) and go a long way to making it look clean under the hood. I was gonna clean out mine and I saw the price for a new bright white one and just tossed the old one instead..

Either way, hope to hear about it running real soon!

Well it fired up today. And it was loud as hell!! :rockwoot: Had a vacuum leak from between the plenium and intake it sounded like. Shouldn't be too tough to seal up. Saw a little leak from the valve covers, cranked those down some more, hopefully that goes away... Looked underneath the car to find a big puddle of oil. :( Couldn't see where it was coming from yet. The timing chain/oil pan seal still looked clean but who knows. Looks like I'll be goin back to get dirty tomorrow... Man did that thing sound tough though!!!! :thumbsup

Scales, that thing looks sweet. I hope you don't really like those wire looms, I have them on my car and they are a huge pain in the @ss. The look great but when it comes to taking the valve covers off they just get in the way.

If you guys are looking at getting a programer look on the moates site at the AutoProm, well worth the extra money, you can emulate(tune while you drive) I will be getting one soon.

Heres an old pic of mine, its a little different now but not to much.

Scales
05-19-2004, 11:38 AM
Yeah, I was hopin I was done under the car for a little while at least.. I don't really have a problem with the looms. Actually, they were the only ones I found that actually kept my wires off my headers. (I'm on my 4th set) And I don't think they're the cause of my valve cover leaks cuz I was using them before. Maybe it's the covers themselves just not seating on the heads too well. Or maybe they don't leak anymore now that I cranked the piss out of them. My goal for the end of tonight is to have it hold all fluids in and get it timed in so I can finally make my opinion on that cam. It was too hard to tell last night. The ECM was trying to constantly adjust the timing, so it was all over the place along with the idle... Did sound rather lumpy though!!! :D

BTW.. Thanks for the compliments guys!! :thumbsup

PonyKiller87
05-19-2004, 12:50 PM
I still have the same issues with my idle, its not to bad though probably because my cam isnt super tall.

Good luck sorting out all the leaks.
