Spent last week in Washington D.C. and after Microsoft let us out each afternoon I went out shooting. Since I have been to D.C. a bunch as of late I tried to find some new things to shoot. Made it too Captain White's finally, top of the Washington Monument, walked through a gay marriage protest and since the last time I was in D.C. was the spring blossom festival I decided to grab some fall colors.

Knocked out a few between other processing sessions, enjoy.

Good stuff! I could go there once a week to shoot and not get bored for a long time...

Iwo Jima is so tough to get with all the apartments and crap right nearby... nice capture!

I just looked at your slideshow and its amazing how 2 people can go there at totally different times and have a few nearly identical shots.. great minds must think alike, haha.

Thanks guys and you are right Jeremy, it is tough shooting there, especially shooting west with the buildings you mentioned, you really have to frame those out. We had got up there early to find a spot to get the trifecta shot (Lincoln, Washington and Capital) at night and I was just able to catch a few peeks of the sun. I wish I would have had a longer lens, the sun going down on those buildings just made them this crazy red/orange color. The perfect lens for those shots is anything you can get to 250mm or beyond.

Some people have asked about the gentleman in the b/w photo. His name is Elijah Alfred Alexander Jr or "NatureBoy". Damn interesting guy and kind of a rockstar homeless guy in D.C., if there is such a thing. I had a few to chat with him like the guy in the video below.
