Here is what my tuner had to say about the day...:headbang

Hit the track today with srt4me18 car and after 5 passes on the new setup, it went 10.971@136.45 [1.74 60]
Today was most likely THE WORSE track prep I have ever experienced. I had to pull major power out of every car we had running today to get them through the 1-2 gears. Rickys car has some 10.5s with more seat time and full power down low.
Anyhow, we snagged the 10 and parked the car to concentrate on the other 5 cars we had at the track. I fully expect to see Ricky drop tenths off the time next time out.
Congrats Ricky, your my boy blue!
Video will be up tomorrow.

Hell yeah that is bookin, i'm not a fan of those owner/driver cars though. Why would you want to go through all of that time and money and not take the glory yourself? Not talking shit, just wondering what the deal is.

STANMAN

Aaron still has the car in Ohio, Ricky hasn't even had the chance to drive it yet. Trust me, Aaron's time in the car (or Ricky if he was driving, not as in 1sikSRT Ricky, as in the co-owner of RealTune Ricky) will be slow, he doesn't hammer on customers cars. If the car is a 10 second car in their possesion, Ricky (1siksrt, the owner of the car) won't have a problem getting it deeper into the 10's.

Like I said over the weekend, congrats buddy, give Aaron the stink finger for me when you see him to pick up the car:rolf

STANMAN

Just to clear things up, Ricky the co-owner of Realtune is who drove the car into the 10's this weekend, as the car itself is still in Ohio. Ricky (1siksrt) hasn't even had a chance to drive it yet. I don't know when he will have the car back, but when he does, don't worry, he will get better times than the guys at Realtune, as again, they don't "beat" on cars to get the best times, like the owner will.

It's not an owner/driver car. It just so happens that Realtune (The #1 SRT authority in my books) is in Ohio, and Ricky lives here. They built the car for him, tuned it, and took it to the track for some track tuning, but it's 100% Ricky's car.

LOL, yes, your first two posts cleared that up. That makes sense then. I still would be pissed if someone other than me ran it past a milestone like that :goof

The more I read my 1st two responses, the more confused I got, lol. I thought the 3rd one was pretty clear, 3rd time was a charm:rolf

Don't worry, Ricky (the owner) will get it there with a quickness!!!:thumbsup

Keep doin' what you are doin' and don't pay attention to any negativity-
because when you concentrate 100% on what YOU are doing and don't think about anybody elses junk is usually when great things happen:devil

SSLEVO
10-27-2009, 02:29 PM
It must have 60'd ok given the trap speed. Usually when you see a fast FWD setup it has an insanely high trap. No negativity here, hell i still haven't ran an 11 yet, lol.

If I remember right you were changing your clutch setups due to snapping input shafts left and right. what did you end up going with?

Good call, reading owned us, lol. 1.74 is leaving ok for a FWD car i would think. I was spinning all 4 in the evo to my best of a 1.69. What do you think it could do?

STANMAN

[1.74 60] Alot of ET left in the 60'

For a RWD yes, for a FWD car, that's pretty good. I had A LOT more in suspension done to my SRT, and my 60's were in the mid 1.6's, which was considered awesome at the time.

Ahh... I didn't even look close enough at the first post.

Yea 1.74 is so-so for a FWDer. I'd bet ricky will likely have it down to low 1.6s, maybe even some high 1.5s on a great launch.

It will take that to get to the 10.50's they are after, or of course more power.

10-27-2009, 04:38 PM
well, if the tuner/driver are accurate in stating they didn't beat too hard on it, they probably can get 60' down a bit and catch a little more mph w/ quicker shifts.

ok, here is the deal bob DID not really explain it well either...LOL Nick the mechanic at realtune drove the car... as most of you know i drove at at GLD to 11.01 twice in the same night with a shittier powerband/less power, different setup, super old school turbo, etc, etc. SO it wont be a problem for me to handle my business...

Also they had to pull a ton of power out of all six cars they had at the track, as you can see in the video the front half is sloooooowww.... They were having problems putting any power down in the front half... He only had 15 lbs of boost in the front half!!!! This car will go deep, deep tens next spring with no changes, but more boost and timing... And when they do this with customer cars the tunes have a bunch of power pulled...

Biggest reason i did not drive the car, is because i am good friends with both the owners Aaron/Rick and I still owe them some money on the build and really could not afford to go down to race it.. So the car will be trailered back in the winter, We all just wanted it to barely get into the tens and next season we can go ballz out(up boost/timing) with it :)

I have personally cut a 1.66 before and fully expect this car to cut a low 1.6 next season... Last time at norwalk with me driving when the car had issues i cut a 1.7 with the new setup and coasted thru the sixty beem never even hit second :) that would have been a 1.6x with ease...
that should clear up all questions...

The fastest caliber is in the 11's still... they only have one auto 9 second srt, and they own the fastest 5 speed car 10.08@152mph, and have six ten second cars total including mine

thats the 10.08 hes talking about dummy, and to SSLEVO.......being a very close friend of rickys.......he is the MOST upset that he wasn't in the car when it went 10s, for a long time he would not let realtune drive it just because he himself said the time didn't mean anything to him unless he was in the car, but we all know ricky can drive it to a much faster time than it has gone, Ricky haz driver mod:D

Yeah, the Caliber is not quiet as easy to mod as the Neon.

So, when do you go out to get it, or are they delivering? If they are delivering, we are all going out bishes!!!

for those who dont know... Stock intake manifold(no porting or Sheet metal mani), log exh. manifold, stock trans(with billet selector), stock camshafts:wooo PLus i could easily shave another 70lbs or so by just getting rid of 50lb stock rim/tires and gettting skinnies for the back... there is so so so much i can do still...

Just on power it is capable of now it will go alot faster and there is still alot more i can do, including bigger turbo:headbang
