Will that trans fit in a 97 1500 chevy truck? its a two wheel drive. I understand the trannys are the same just need to change the tailshaft housings.

Not sure where Scott got the information he posted, but there are some small differences between the 95-97 4L60E and the 98-99.

The trans cooling line location is a little different and the torque converter is different as well.

I don't believe the 1500's in the 88-99 range came with 4L80E's. I think that was just the 2500.

So I guess the answer is still no. :(
