that is msrp. Yes, a lot of $10k sleds out there now. A lot of $$ for a couple months use and fast, hard depreciation.

comparing a 440 to a 600 isn't really a good comparison. also that 05 is ancient technology compared to the new stuff. gotta pay to play!

Im betting most brand's snowcross sleds are comparable pricing. It is crazy how expensive these things are getting. IF i get another sled,it would be a few years old,let someone else take the big hit.

should read "gotta pay to look cool". ;) I ride a 1989 Exciter and on 3 seperate trips near Holy Hill last winter I saw guys on new sleds that were broken down.
I can see spending money on the latest and greatest if you are able to go up north or to upper michigan to ride often...but for bangin' around down here it's just insane to spend $10,000 on a sled. Trails open end of December and close when, end of February or early March? Not worth it in my opinion.

Wow, no way would i pay that much. I'm thinking about picking up a 03-04 F7 either this year or next, they are getting to be around 2500-3000 for a nice one. My 99 ZR500 does just fine as well for 1500 bucks though. Like others said, just don't get enough use to drop that kind of coin. I used to go more often when i lived up north but since i moved down here last summer i have yet to go once.

If you look hard enough you will find the right deal / price.

I was looking at an 09' 500SS Ski-Doo (which is a 600cc liq. cooled motor) for $6200 before tax, title.

I ended up getting a 08' Yamaha Vector GT for a little under $7500 new, picked it up last Saturday :banana1:

My brother bought one, last year and omg is that sled a blast to ride. It has PLENTY of power, and for being a fraction of the price of new ones, i see it as a great buy.

I don't think anything loses value quicker then snowmobiles. But then again, they are also evolving really quickly now too.

f7s are slowly coming down to reality since the release of the "new firecat" last year. they are a great sled.

there will be a "for sale" sign on mine this season. rumour has it that cat is going to drop a 700 in the sno pro chassis! i will order one, i cannot wait!

all this jump talk. :) i didnt think there was anyone on this site that could benefit from a true racesled. the suspension unless revalved is SUPER stiff and will BEAT you to death on the trail. i have a trail sled that i will jump side by side with who ever. but its for sale to buy a race sled :rolf

The 440 race sleds are now useless as they phased out the 440 class last year i beleive..... thats why you got such a good deal on it.... 11K for a race sled is average....
