Anyone have a Vortech bolted up to there 4.6? Is the S-Trim any good for some power with a good flowing block?

Im assuming oxman is reffering to his tbird.... which is a 2V non PI setup..... Mike has a 3 valve with VVT. Two completely different animals, vortech advertises 290HP with their kit, we managed more but we also had a air to air with ours which seemed to help a bit on the IAT's

Nope sold the Thunderbird last summer, looking to get a 99-04 Mustang GT (or 2V RWD Ford) down the road, looking to see who has a good Votech S-trim set up with stock or ported PI heads.

awesome!

well, I know that S trims have gone deep into the 10s on some cars, so that being said, you should have no problem making some decent numbers... I think the "bolt on" kit that vortec advertises is close to 370hp or so... but Like i said, I was able to get more with a FMIC and a good tune. The other thing, PI heads are not great castings to port, ive read that the Non-pi heads have more material in the chambers and can typically get better flow results over a PI head.

Eric Schluter has a Vortech 4.6L 2V (2004) Mustang GT. He is putting down more than 325 at the rears. I don't know if he has an account on here.

Your original question was "Anyone have a Vortech bolted up to there 4.6? Is the S-Trim any good for some power with a good flowing block?"

Are you wondering how good the Vortech is and you are looking at different supercharger options? Are are you looking to see what most people make with an S Trim?

My car has no vvti, and a Strim will do wonders for that car.

does your car have the VVT block offs in it Coop? cuz if not then your car does in fact have VVT. ford started that in 05 so unless your car is a 04 or older s197 then im confused.....

why no VVTi? And yeah your right, ive seen 5.0s go 10s, and 5 litres are ineffeciant compared to pretty much any mod motor.... So in short, you should be very pleased if you go the Strim route!
