I went on Saturday to Subaru City because the wifes sti needed an oil change and I saw they had a decent special. The service advisor told my wife Saturday is by appt only so we left. We went back today at about 11 and the same woman is there and asks what we need. I say just an oil change - she proceeds to point at my wife and say I told you it's by appointment only. WTF? Why did you let her leave on Saturday without asking if she wanted to schedule an appt? She also said that she has no one to do te service anyways....seriously? Why advertise oil change specials, etc if you can't walk in and get the service. I liked Dodge City but now that they made it Subaru City and GM John Dunk was transferred it has gone to shit.

So....anyone have any suggestions of where to get the oil changed in the sti? I know I can do it but I'm lazy and on vacation.

ahh, i'm sure any quick lube place would do it. Or you could take an hour out of your day and know it was done right.

Go to Sommers in Mequon. My bro is a subie tech there.

Plus I know they are slow right now.

Any service garage can do an oil change. I wouldn't go to a quickie lube place as they try to upsell you on chit you don't need or want.

Change it yourself or take it to Sommer's in Mequon or Wilde. That Subie dealership at dodge city is the worst ever.

Take it to wilde. Everyone from don jacobs went there. Ask for Dave the service writer and tell him Kyle sent you there!

Just change it with a good synthetic yourself! I wish my Z06 was as easy as my sti was,8 quarts and a drysump with no ground clearance!

do it yourself it takes no time. Wilde is a bunch of hacks (opened my door into the service desk, told him to get out and f off). Subaru City is good for body work (Dan the manager is a great guy) don't know about service though. Sommers is good all around from what I here.

I trust virtually no one to do anything to my car.

I was at Sommers today. No issues.

The techs from Don Jacobs were awesome, but they're spread out now and don't work weekends. I went to Wilde once after Don Jacobs closed. My car smelled like shit from all the spilled fluids during the change. I had to power wash the exhaust header and wipe everything down. It was the wifes new wagon. I was pretty pissed.

So Sommers has won the business. I drive 35 minutes out of my way, but I know it is done right. Doing it yourself is overrated.

An appointment for an oil change on Saturday is standard at Sommers too. You can drive up the rest of the days, as long as it's not the final hour.

Any place can do an oil change though. I like to do it myself to save money, and see how many metal shavings are on the magnetic drain plug.

I guess I'll just wait to get home and do it myself....thanks all. The only thing that stops me from wanting to do it myself is because of that damn plastic shield on the bottom of the car

On the 08 it's only 3 bolts, 2 pushpins and 2 clips.
