Do you think this game well live up to all the hype or be a dud?

Considering the obnoxious level of hype for this game, unless Favre comes out and starts fucking Ted Thompson in the ass while Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy lead a circle jerk around the scene, it won't live up to the hype.

Personally all the BS lead up to the game is making me look less forward to it.

However the game ends up having little to do with Favre as he plays within himself and lets AP do all the works as he runs for over 175 yards and 3 TDs against the shit D. Rodgers leaves the game in the 3rd quarter after Allen runs thru our Tackles and kills him.

I think its going to be an ugly game. Defensive holding Penalties trying to stop AP will kill us. I still think Crosby will fuck up a 46 yard punt.

LMFAO!!!

Maybe he meant the return?

I think they should have found a way to swap games so Favre's first faceoff with GB is at Lambeau, it would have been hyped even more.

I can't. I just can't see my team going 8-8 or worse every year because 1 guy can't put talent on the team, and the other guy can't coach. It's just too frustrating. I'll take the bullet for a couple of bad seasons in order to get someone worth a damn in both of those positions.

I hate thinking like that as well lol. BUT I want ted thompson gone once and for all! Because he doesnt know what it takes to make a super bowl caliper team! We have the leagues youngest team for how many years in a row? We need veteran free agents to help lead the younger guys into doing their job that much better! As long as Ted is general manager we wont be much for a contender. Yes, Favre did take the team to 13-3 3 years ago, but he made shit happen.

Exactly. TT has been ignoring the OL since the day he got here and didn't resign Wahle and/or Rivera. Favre got killed that year like Rodgers is getting killed this year. And ever since then the OL is an afterthought. They just keep thinking the trash we have will magically get better. I love the theory that if one guy gets hurt we have to move 3 people around. So we have to move guys who already suck at their main position and put them at their second best spot. Brilliant. Meanwhile we are at the top for available cap space every year.

Being a Viking's fan this game worries me. The Packer's always give the Viking's a hard time. I don't think Favre is going to be affected by the hype much. Peterson is going to be hard to stop this game. The 49ers did well at stopping the run last week and Peterson will be looking to have a good game tonight. Favre has been playing great but his receivers have been dropping a lot of perfect passes and I don't see them stepping up much this game either. It's going to be fun to watch and the dome is going to be crazy.

In order for the vikes to win they have to stop the pass and they haven't been able to do that very well at all. I think it's going to be a close game even if Peterson runs well.

GB will run the hell out of the ball tonite....Why? Thinking Mccarthy tells him in locker room to stick with the script. Divert pressure from QB to run game.

Farve will be firing bullets and up for anything 2nd half.

Vikings slaughter packers. Both will open up on the run game. Then by the break when the packers suck the most. Farve will be unleashed and I predict 3 TD's in the 2nd half with all of them coming from the pass for the vikes.....Just my predictions.

Try having talent and shitty coaches..I think that's even worse!

As for my prediction, favre is not that good and got EXTREMELY lucky the last ball he shot (it was a blind shot...seriously) but AP will be the packers destruction..it will be close but unfortunately I see the vikings RUNNING away with this one.

I think the Pack is only going to go down hill from here....I think they will look OK playing other sub par teams but , any good teams will have their way with them....Also look for AR to go out with a injury within the next couple games , he will not be able to take all the hits he has been taking.....

Eh, the only thing making Brent better than Rodgers tonite was the fact that he has an offensive line that actually plays football in front of him. Rodgers was sacked 8 times for a total of 42 yards tonite. Brent didnt have a single hand even touch him.

Its been said a million times already, Rodgers is in deep shit with this O line. I hope management is happy with their team.

Karps TA
10-06-2009, 07:48 AM
My observations:

Yes the line does suck. but Rodgers and McCarthy are not helping them at all. Rodgers is doing nothing but looking for big play deep balls. Unless it's a called play he refuses to dump the ball off, or throw it away. I think he's watching his fantasy football numbers too much. And McCarthy's playcalling looks to be nothing but long developing plays. They started the game throwing some screens, a play longforgotten until the media asked where they hell they went. What happened to the quick slant that worked so well last year?

Did Nick Barnett even play last night? Can we sit his ass down and see what Bishop can do finally?

It's nice to see that Thompson didn't effectively fill one hole from last season. OL sucks, and our safeties still suck. I wonder if we could have filled either of those spots with Minnesota's 1st round draft pick by trading Favre to them last year? Oh that's right it was more important to send Favre to a team we didn't play then making the team better. My problem isn't that they got rid of Favre. It's that they traded him for the 3rd best offer, because it was more important to not lose to him that season, then get better talent.

Still plenty of penalties. I know McCarthy will watch the tape and get that fixed. He's only been saying that since the day he showed up.

I guess you were because they were wearing white jerseys. Cause he's been doing it all season. He's almost always looking down field and ignoring his check downs. Not all of those sacks were a guy busting thru in 1 second. He was responsible for half of them by holding onto the ball too long. Last year he'd throw the ball away if nothing was there. This year he's holding on to it trying to hard to make big plays. Shit even the dipshit head coach has said he's doing it, and McCarthy doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.

That's not bashing Rodgers either. He's been doing a good job. But if he wants to play 16 games this season he's got to get rid of the ball faster. The line is not going to get any better.

I only saw one obvious blown call. There was a holding on the Vikings on a play down by the goal line in like the 2nd quarter that should have been called. Other then that I thought it was called well. The PI in the endzone doesn't matter. It was a free play because of the offsides. All it did was move the ball up a yard. There would not have been an INT anyways.

I just like how everyone before the game was saying Favre wont do anything blah blah blah and during the game they were saying the refs are getting paid off and after the game they said both QB's had a great game. True both QB's had good games but Favre had a 135 pt QB rating which is dam good. I just hope Thompson and McCarthy had trouble sleeping last night knowing they gave that guy away. I dont think Rodgers will be a great QB just because his injurys and his line infront of him. I think he has 4 or 5years left as a starter.

I thought is was the ol's job to protect the qb, however in the game yesterday, a highschool team could of sacked rodgers. For that matter would the safety's get their heads out of their ass and cover someone? That was total horse shit. Rodgers, who in my opinion is a tough QB (remember he played most of the season last year with a dislocated shoulder), would of not of been hit as much if people would of given him the time like the vikings gave farve....They need to get their act together, and they need to do it fast

The Seahawks went to the Super Bowl after he left because they went out that year and signed Free Agents to get them over the hump. You can't be the youngest team in the league every year and expect to win.

I think its going to be an ugly game. Defensive holding Penalties trying to stop AP will kill us. I still think Crosby will fuck up a 46 yard punt.

dude seriously??? all you're posts that i've read lead me to believe that you know nothing about the packers/football...crosby is the packers PLACEKICKER not the punter

If we had a o-line, the Packers win that game!

I don't think so....

"Below my expectations," Rodgers said of his performance. "To have three possessions where you are in their territory and come away with zero points, two of them were directly related to mistakes by me, it is disappointing...

Yeah but a lot of his mistakes were because he didn't have enough time to be able to do anything.

Yes, I agree that is part of the overall problem....I'm just not a AR fan ....Time will tell I guess ???

I don't see how the Pack will be able to fix all the line issues before AR gets hurt.....8 sacks in one game is really asking for it to happen , AR spends more time on his back than a 2 dollar hooker......

Did you see Ar's numbers? He is a badass quarterback, that will only get better.

How good would Brent have done with the same line? Aaron Rodgers is the real deal, and if he gets the chance to be relaxed in the pocket, watch out!

Brett's had that shitty line. People make it sound like Favre always had a great line. Thompson's first year the line was as bad as it is now. How about what would Brett do if he ever had the WR's core beside 1 year.

Any QB if given time can be great.

Rodger's is an AWESOME Fantasy Football QB. He can put up stats with the best of them. He's just not a winner yet. Hopefully he can learn to be one. There were many, many games where Favre had to carry the Packers basically all by himself. There's something to be said for guys who have that "It" factor. And Rodgers doesn't naturally have that yet.

I think part of the reason why is listen to him after a game. He sounds like McCarthy and Thompson when he talks. Zero emotion, zero fire, zero personality. Nothing but the same tired typical cliches. It's like they told him to be a damn clone. You're the leader of the team, say something besides the company line.

On a positive note, looks like they are close to signing Tauscher back. That will help.

Id take a hurt tauscher over the bums they got right now. We need clifton back to. then maybe rodgers will only get sacked 4 times a game.

My question is why does it matter if they would have taken him back, in my opinion Rodgers would have still be starting anyways. Why? simple, you really think favre could take the hits that Rodgers has been taking...even half of them? Favre is delicate whether he or anyone else likes it and Minnesota proved that by protecting him by all means...could the packers do the same for him? Doubt it. Both him and the packers are better off...the way the situation was handled was poor to say the least though.

This is, without a doubt, the single stupidest sports related thing I've ever read. :durr

16 years as a Packer, 1 as a Jet, and 4 games so far as a Viqueen.
He's in his 18th year as an NFL starting quarterback without one missed start. Delicate? What alternate dimension are you from? Are you part of The Pattern?

Did you see Ar's numbers?

Numbers are great for fantasy football but , in the end if you don't win they don't mean much.....Like I said before I don't see any leadership skills in AR , most on the team do not have the " FIRE " in them they used to have when they won games or needed to win games...QB is the " Field General " and AR could not get the guys to follow him out of a burning building !

Favre on Week 5 injury report
The News
Pro Football Talk reports that Brett Favre is on the Vikings Week 5 injury report with a foot, ankle and knee injury and will be limited in practice Wednesday. He will likely not miss the game against the helpless St. Louis rams though, and fantasy owners should not be worried.

Oh really? What proof do you have to support your contention? I have history to back me up, what do you have? I seem to remember Brett playing wearing a flak jacket to protect some bad ribs. I remember him playing with a bad thumb, bad fingers, bad feet, stingers, concussions, all kinds of shit. He may not have played his best games with those injuries, but he still played. He is probably tougher at the age of forty than most of us were at twenty-five.

Face it man, you are a Favre hater. I don't like the shit that Brett pulled; I think it makes him look indecisive and childish, and I fucking hate that fact that he went to Minnesota to get his pound of flesh out of Ted "Fucktard" Thompson, but you will never convince anybody but another hater that he's "delicate." That is a ludicrous statement and it makes you look ignorant.

I still don't understand why your bringing old shit up..like I said for the third time this is not about his career or "history" I really don't know how much obvious I have to make that haha Maybe I can spell it out for you on a youtube video? This is about NOW....let me type it again in bold before you get all keyboard happy NOW.
People can say the same thing about Tomlinson and look at him now? LT is one of my favorite backs of all time but it would be completely stupid to sit here and bring up what a beast he was and the punishment he took/workload and say that its not catching up to him and is injury prone.

The guy is hurt right now and hes gotten the best protection ive ever seen from a line last game and to say that he could take the punishment that Aaron Rodgers has been taking lately and still be able to play at %100 because of his history is fucking hilarious :rolf Is Favre a tough guy? no doubt I never questioned that, but you can't beat the clock as they say....hes old and DELICATE and his rising injuries are showing that. Im just being realistic and not being a favre nutswinger...ive disliked the guy since he was a packer... no offense to anyone but I really don't like the packers period lol I admired his skill and toughness but like tomlinson...age gets to you and YOU ARE more injury prone...mix that in with a shitty o-line that lets defenders blindside you/harass you all day/get 20 sacks in 4 games and no running game? You have a dead old quarterback which is what my point was since the beginning, and no his great legacy is not going to give him super powers and hold him together hit after hit after hit at his age and with the packers offensive team.
