White LT1 Trans Am
Had the VFN 4" cowl hood and some draglites up front but stock wheels in back. Was on 94 eastbound around 5pm last night down towards the city. Saw it as I was headed westbound home from school. Maybe 35th street crossing?

What's the difference? They're both American V8s, both single cam, they both have push rods and they both have the same valve layout. An LS1 is just a SBF with some updates. Good for GM, finally getting rid of their junk and copying what works... :thumbsup

absolutely correct, the sbf is a distributorless ignition, it has 15* valve angles, and has a WONDERFUL stock block that with just a half-fill has been in the 6.90's in the 1/4, JUST like the LSx powerplants :rolleyes:

I didn't say "small", I said "some". And I should hope after 42 years that if Chevy started out with a clean sheet of paper, they could improve on a few things. BTW, I really don't see a COP ignition to be much of an advance. Sorry.

BTW, John Mihovetz runs a stock Modular BLOCK in his racecar.

SBFs have come with DIS ignition from the factory, in the 5.0L explorers and mountaineers.

Just because Opti-spark sucks, doesn't mean COP is anything more than what it is. COP is only an advance in engine management software.
