So my brother and I took a trip a few weeks ago down to Bowling Green KY for the National Corvette Museum's 15th Anniversary car show/caravan. My mom has a 2003 Anniversary Corvette, but couldn't go, so we did. Thanks Mom!
There were over 5000 corvettes in town for the festivities. Very cool taking over the town. We were able to get into the Corvette plant for a self-guided tour. It is the first time they have done tours this way, and I think it worked out great. My brother and I spent 3.5 hours walking the plant floor. Watched a few ZR1 vettes get built and then driven off and tested. Very cool. We talked to quite a few plant workers and it was nice to see their excitement about what they do.

I can't get down with the Vette crowd. They are usually all like you describe...old rich guys. Does that one Vette really say "Rad" on the side? :rolf

I guess its the venue and the group of guys that are into that stuff? There are tons of really old guys into mustangs and mopars too. If you look at the Badger State Vettes club I don't think there is one person there without an AARP card. You look more at the HPDE/Bad Boy Vettes crowd and show up at the ALMS corrals and you have mostly 30 year olds (give or take). I know 5 other close friends of mine that are under 35 and have C6 Z06's. And I know a bunch of young guys with C5's & C6's. When the prices of the Z06's went down and you saw 0% on them and regular C6's I know of many people that went from their Camaro, Trans am, GTO to a Corvette.

True - I'd say a bunch of the guys are on the geriatric side... but the BG Caravan looked like a bunch of fun. If I wasn't just down there in March I would have gone.

EDIT: Nice Callaway GranSport. He must have gotten one early.

Reminds me of what my Dad recently said "It used to be just young guys that drove Muscle cars, now they're all retired."

Sometime before I die I'll go to Bowling Green, and the Buick Nationals.

If you think the Vette guys are old try driving down there with the Buick crowd................

BG is a great town, if things don't change soon around here its looking like I'll be in a small town between Nashville and BG..........;)
