pretty impressive. I had a z24' with the m45 blower with meth injection. It was fun. Not to hot on the electrical tape on the power steering pump though. :) actaully there was another z24 with a m45 on it. I would have loved to see how we did vs a m45' on a focus with simular mods.

Relax, I didn't compare YOUR car to anything. And you have to admit its not a common choice for car enthusiast, a sleeper of sorts.

People will be amazed when this Focus smokes them, they won't be prepared. Face it, the focus is in that class of affordable cars that f&f punks try to race like probes, but like with anything, a little elbow grease and know how, and it can be MADE A BEAST!

Nice car, tastefully done. With the CF hoods on FWD cars, is it more for looks or actually shaving weight? I always wondered why there don't seem to be as many CF trunklids/hatches on FWD's since keeping weight on the drive wheels would make sense.

No no, I was honestly asking. I used to own a 93 Mazda MX-6 when I knew nothing about cars, and I used to run with this guy in college who had a 93 Probe, that had Mazda on the motor :thumbsup. But my buddy who I think is in Team Rush (been years) owns a pretty sweet white decked out Probe with some foreign motor he couldn't wait to get put in for shows, some K-something motor.

I think your Focus is seriously impressive but how much of that power is actually useable? I was in a 450whp SHO Taurus (the OG version) and a 400whp SVT Contour. Both had super sticky tires and the need to feather the throttle was ridiculous, more so in the Contour. I can't imagine 500whp in a Focus, you must take me for a ride......:thumbsup

I have star specs while they are decent in a straight line that is certainly not their forte (they are actually more of a street tire class auto-x tire). IMHO you would be MUCH happier with some sticky rubber. You have a lot of cash into a nice setup, may as well be able to turn it up and actually USE some of the power.

Should be fun at the drag strip with the slicks. What are you doing for a trans? I have a buddy considering starting a build on a zetec and was saying the transmission needed a little attention for higher hp.

trans is stock with 3.41 final drive set, stock is 3.83. with a t2 torsen LSD. the stock gear set was death tested by the designer on a bench to roughly 750ftlbs before teeth will break.

only thing the mtx75 doesnt do well is shift fast. long as u dont pound gears every time these trans last a long time!

if anything just double syncro each gear and the trans will be good to go. i never did tho. ill get there sometime unless i mate a reworked t5 trans and a 8.8 in the back within a year or so ;)
