Sport use? Utility Use? Budget?

I have a 2003 Kawasaki Bayou 250. Its a 2WD manual shift ATV with electric start and reverse on a utility platform. I use it to go from our cabin out to check treestands and cameras. It won't set the world on fire with its speed or power but it's practical for thie purpose for which I use it. It has its bumps and bruises but it's a solid machine.

Look it up and see if it sounds like it would be something up your alley. If so, I'd sell it for about $1500. It's up at the cabin but for a serious buyer, I'd go get it.

Would look like so.. found a pic with a person on it so you could see the size...

I think I want something bigger than a 250. Probably a 500 and up. Not too sure on what I want to spend yet. Just kind of seeing what everyone has that they want to get rid of I guess.

I have been thinking of parting with one or both of my Yamaha Banshees. I currently have 4 atvs and can never seem to find 4 people to go - usually only need one for me and one for my son.

They are both 96s, both have the typical mods like pipes and etc., have lowish hours since rebuilds and are both decently fast.

Only issue is last time out I lost the clutch in one, and the other started running funny (guessing ignition related maybe as simple as a fouled plug, haven't looked at it yet - both issues I intend to fix and have the parts for I just havent gotten around to it yet. I would think both are worth somewhere in the $1500 or offer range once I take care of the issues, or I may be interested in knocking some off the price if somneone wanted to do the work themselves.

PM me if interested.

you really need to dertimine what your use is..... if you want to pound the trails then you dont need to limit yourself to a 500 cc or larger... /\/\ jims banshees are only 350s, but will beat up on raptor 660s! on the other hand, with a utility quad, bigger is usually bigger but not always!

Dont get the 500, get the 800. There arent many mods for the 500s for performance and you WILL want more. I just bought my renegade 800 a month ago and I already want more out of it, its just in our blood, you cant fight it!

Otherwise I have my LT250R for sale. lol

Here's a couple of links to help you decide if you want to get a Gade or not:

I bought mine from Al up at Antigo Yamaha. Mine was a brand new machine on the showroom floor, its a 2007, leftover model. Retail on it was $9600 and I got it for $6700 because the '10s are coming so they want to move the old ones out first. I would maybe give him a call and see what they have left, if you can get a new non-current model you will save some $$$.

I have over 2000 miles of trail riding on my A/C. Only problem I had was the rear master cylinder seized up on me. Other than that the thing runs very strong, the V-Twin sounds great and really has the power when you need it. I have friends that have Polaris' and the front differential is a problem there if you are running it hard.

I don't have it for sale but just thought I'd throw my $.02 in here.
The wife has a 2008 A/C 500 liquid cooled, she likes it, and only problem was water in the composite headlamp, which warranty took care of.

my arctic cat still runs strong and i can honestly say that it has been through more hell in the 1500 miles that are on it, then most see in a lifetime. my buddy just got a great deal on a new cat 550 H1. thing is a powerful machine. rides great, looks nice, everything?!?!?

i guess i recommend the arctic cats. call midcities motorsports, they give good deals.

Can ams are made in mexico.... A/Cs are over priced.... i HIGHLY encourage you to drive as many as you can before you buy. I sold Polaris for two years and would only buy a polaris utility.... Ive had the oportunity to drive every utility quad on the markets and I can tell you what sucks on every single one..... but You really need to drive them.
