I don't think i have ever posted pics of this one. I bought it new in 92 and drove it often until around 2000 or so when I got my Triumph Daytona. The kids were bugging me to get it up and running this year so I wrapped it up a couple weeks ago.

It's a 904cc, 2 valve V twin. Belt driven cams, liquid cooled, 6 speed and fuel injected. It was pretty high tech for 92 now it's just old. They made around 500 of them total for the 2 1/2 years of production but they never sold well. I think they were big in Germany for some reason. It makes around 80hp at the wheel and gets 55-60 MPG. The fastest I've had it to was 143 (on the dyno and close to that on the Harbor bridge).

Looks like a late 80's GSXR with a crappy paint job to me.

That must have been a really high end bike back then. How does it compare to modern FI vs carb of the day?

When it was new the only thing else I remember that was injected was the BMW K bikes. The main components are Webber/Marelli and came from Fiat/Alfa parts bins with a Ducati spec computer. It was one of the first that I saw with aftermarket chips avail.

As far as comparing it to new stuff it's pretty smooth. It's a low performance bike now does what it needs to well. It's closer to a VFR in performance than anything else. I regret not having gotten the hard bags when I had the chance. Everything is obsolete for the damn thing now.

I wasn't comparing your Ducati to that bike by any means. Just posted the pic cause 07ROUSHSTG3 mentioned the movie.

What gives away the age on your Ducati mostly is the light. It looks like they used the same headlight from a Chevy Blazer.

It sure is cool though.

Wrong on the headlight.....

FZR700 Yamaha! Thank god you can replace the bulb if it pukes, Ducati would want $500 for it....

I'm just happy I never had hair like VI......

Wow. It's red! Who would have guessed it?
It looks pretty clean in the photos and isn't too eighties. I'd ride it.

When are you going to bury that Bultaco in my backyard? I come home from work everyday expecting to find it there. ;)

I could have gotten it in black when I bought it but there was a 6 month wait for one to come from Italy. I should have went that way, I was told there was less than 50 black ones made. The 87-89 750 Paso's were mainly red but they had a few white/red/green ones and the 90-91 906's were available in blue also.

I will have to roll past your ranch with it, the Staintune mufflers sound hot as hell. Mildly vintage but still cool.

Ahh yes, the Bultaco... It's still back there and I should dig it out before the snow falls. As that will be any week soon I will get on it. Send me your addr again and I will try to get that done this sat!

That gray single color seat on the black one makes it look chunkier and dates it a little more.

Idle threats. You're going to get buried with the 'Taco and you know it. But do stop by on the bike if you're in the hood. I might be out there on Saturday for a spell. I've got a backlog of bikes to work on.

Pretty sure I saw you today turning east on Greenfield at 60th.. Thing sounded nice!

That would have been me, was on the way to pick up the girl child. I had my black and red leather on and the Rossi Sun/Moon helmet on.

That intersection is the center of all crazy most afternoons. Scares me to roll thru around that time.

Next time yell something so I can hit a parked car.

Yeah I saw the Rossi bucket and they have it all messed up because National is tore up in that 1 small spot.

Next time I'll just swerve at ya, that work? :goof At least I'd be able to throw the bike in the back and give ya a ride home. haha

No need for the ride, I live close enough to there to be able to crawl home. Might be able to score some rocks at Citgo on the way thru if I gets lucky!
