TWC just screwed me, looking for info on options...

So, up until recently I had a slight WE Energies discount on TV, phone, and "business class" Road Runner. I was getting about 15 Mbps download and 1.5 Mbps upload speeds. My wife works out of the home doing video interpreting sign launguage for the deaf. Her video setup/software is extremely sensitive to upload speed in particular, and the 1.5 Mbs is about the minimum that works. I have been on the fence about paying too much for some time (about $165/mo between the cable, phone, inet) compared to offers I get in the mail constantly, but have always stuck with cable because it worked reliably and customer service was fine.

Well, lately her stuff hasn't been working well, causing her issues during calls, and I noticed a big dropoff in how well Xbox live was working as well - tons of connection issues, problems getting into games, etc. My wife was scheduled to work/take calls today and couldn't even work it was so bad so we do a speed test and we are now getting only like 7 Mbps download and 0.5 Mbps upload speeds. So, she wastes hours with TWC support (while losing $35 an hour she could be making doing calls...) and they play all the usual games - its your PC, its your router, etc. while she argues with them and tells them IT WAS WORKING FINE, ALL OUR STUFF WORKS FINE... So, it is around this time that it dawns on me that someone from TWC just called a week or two ago trying to get me to "upgrade to Road Runner turbo" and I was confused since I already had business class... Anyways long story short after wasted hours they finally find out that they cancelled our discount a few weeks ago, and they automaticly changed us and everyone else supposedly to regular Road Runner without telling me or notifying me in any way. So, I figure they set my speed to this crap them about 5 minutes later called and tryed to re-sell me turbo or business class. They also now claim they need to come install a new modem and phone setup to give me business class back, and want to charge me $150 installation fee. I'm confused as hell by this as well, since I had it and it worked fine before with my currently installed equipment lol all they should have to do is put it back the way it was.

I am extremely pissed and looking to change but like I said upload speeds are critical for my wife's work, so post up your FACTS please as far as what other offerings for tv cable and phone bundles and their speeds if you can run a speed test. I am in Oak Creek as far as a location. I get about 5 offers a month it seems I will be picking one but am curious about actual factual speeds people are getting, not advertised speeds.

interesting... I have Business Class too. Some "Telecommuter" package I signed up for when the Norlight was still owned by Journal Communications, so I qualified for that discount.

I wonder if they downgraded me in anyway. I know I had 8/down and 1.5/up.
I've been paying $39.95 + taxes per month. No phone. No Cable TV. I have a business class IP address. It's not static but fairly "sticky" (it doesn't change much)

I'd say talk to domokun (Scott). He works for AT&T U-verse. If you're already paying $165/month you could have Phone, Internet, 4 receivers w/ U-300 + the HD channels for that much money.

When we got sat we thretned to dump all of their services and ended up getting a decent deal on RR compared to DSL so we decided just to keep RR for gaming reasons. I believe its $30/month

Supposed to have Business Class (8MB Down/512K up) but when the TWC tech was out he said that it has been switched to RR Turbo.

No complaints, My download speed increased when the tech swapped my modem. :thumbsup

You guys should use a non-local server. Unless you download all your shit from MKE it doesn't matter how fast it is to Germantown. Mine is 15mbit to Germantown also but to San Jose, CA it's a measly 3.2mbit.

Anyway, get used to TWC screwing you. They have way too much overhead they need to pay for.

I've worked w/ the bin files firsthand and...

RR std is 7.0/512up - Most subs see 7-18mbps, Powerboost is supposed to kick only up to 10mbps

RR Turbo is 15.0/1.0 up - Most subs see from 15-30mbps, Powerboost is supposed to kick up to 25mbps, but I've heard of a few hitting over 30.

OP, you should have had a notice about the switch come thru about 6-8 weeks ago, also thru your company as well.

That annoys me. That and what Yoo have are exactly what I had, that they changed to the shit .5 up that basic has, and that they claim is no longer available.
